Job summary

Jobtailor in Pune, India seeks an experienced professional to lead a team processing securities and derivatives orders within Operations - Transaction Services. You will drive performance, coach staff, and ensure adherence to controls and regulatory requirements.

The role requires 6-10 years in Banking Operations, strong people leadership, and hands-on knowledge of equities, fixed income, and derivatives workflows, including data platforms like Bloomberg and Reuters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• 6-10 years of relevant experience in Banking Operations, with exposure to investments products.
• Experience with equities, mutual funds, bonds, derivatives and related processing.
• Experience with Market Data Services platforms like Bloomberg, Reuters, Telekurs, AA Stocks.
• Familiarity with Asset Setup, Security Setup, or Fund Setup and Reference Data processes.
• Strong understanding of Trade Life Cycle and Price update handling.
• Exposure to custody platforms is a plus.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Supervise operating efficiency and ensure the entire team meets performance and quality expectations
• Evaluate team performance and make recommendations for pay increases, promotions, terminations, and staffing
• Resolve escalated issues and provide appropriate closure
• Identify process improvement opportunities, including service or technology enhancements, and train staff on changes
• Analyze data to identify control deficiencies and resolve issues by implementing appropriate procedures
• Serve as backup for the manager as required
• Assess risk in business decisions while safeguarding Citi, its clients, and assets
• Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies
• Apply sound ethical judgment and elevate, manage, and report control issues transparently
• Supervise others and create accountability for maintaining required standards
• Provide leadership and direction to a team processing securities and derivatives orders and transactions in coordination with Operations - Transaction Services

Requirements

• 6-10 years of relevant experience
• Experience in people management
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Required 7-8 Years of experience in Banking Operations, with minimum 3/4 years of Investments Banking products and process work experience
• Product exposure and experience on Investments products such as Equities, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Structured Notes, and Derivatives
• Work experience with or familiarity with Market Data Services platforms such as Bloomberg, Reuters, Telekurs, and AA Stocks
• Work experience on Asset Setup, Security Setup, or Fund Setup
• Work experience on Reference Data or Static Data processes for the listed products
• Knowledge of Price update and Price exception handling on Variance and Stale Price management
• Exposure to and good understanding of Equities, Fixed Income, and Bonds asset classes/types
• Knowledge or work experience with interest basis calculation methods on asset classes/types
• Good understanding of the Trade Life Cycle of investment banking products
• Experience with or exposure to custody platforms such as Clearstream, Euroclear, BONY, Fedwire, DTCC, MAS, CDP, and AUSTRACLEAR is an added advantage
