Job Responsibilities

• Working with the segment Business Information Security Leader, serve as the primary security subject matter expert to programs and product delivery teams to provide security-by-design support.
• Provide security solution support across a broad range of security domains through:
  • Understand business needs and comprehend associated threats.
  • Publish security requirements.
  • Provide engineering guidance and solution patterns to a cross‑functional engineering organization.
  • Lead security design reviews.
• Using data and telemetry from security tools to provide reinforcement of risks to product teams.
• Maintain a strong understanding of the evolving cyber‑security threat landscape and modern engineering patterns.
• As part of the Security Architecture organization:
  • Contribute and be the point of contact for Syneos Health’s Architecture Review Board.
  • Partner with domain security architects to address program solution gaps.
  • Accelerate delivery through the adoption of AI tools.
• Act as the security escalation point for delivery teams, identifying risks and blockers early and driving timely resolution.

Qualifications

• Security Advisory / Product Security
  • 7 years experience with executing secure-by-design agile processes across multiple large programs.
  • Proven ability to partner with business segment product teams to deliver secure solutions in a clinical setting.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills for technical and business audiences.
  • Experience using AI tools to accelerate delivery of security-by-design processes.
  • Experience with common security frameworks NIST, ISO 27001, Hitrust, CSF, Mitre ATT&CK.
• Technical
  • Strong design proficiency in multiple security domains including:
    • Modern cloud security for tenants, landing zone and workload architectures for Azure, GCP or AWS.
    • Data protection solutions (Preferred Microsoft Purview, DLP).
    • Software Engineering and API Security.
    • Enterprise Identity (Preferred: Entra, Auth0, MFA).
    • Understanding how to secure SaaS applications.
    • Mobile Device Security.
  • Ability to grasp new technology concepts and understand security needs quickly.
  • Strong experience building solution architect and engineering patterns.
• Experience with:
  • Securing AI applications (GenAI, Agentic AI).
  • Jira or other collaboration tools.
• Education
  • College degree or relevant experience in the cyber security engineering field.
  • CISSP.
  • Cloud Certification for Azure or GCP preferred.
  • AI certifications.

Summary

The Secure Solution Advisor (SSA) will be a member of the Office of the CISO (oCISO) organization and a member of enterprise security architecture within the Resiliency and Response team. This role is responsible for executing security‑by‑design processes to support the delivery of safe and secure solutions that accelerate patient therapies to market. The SSA partners closely with the Business Information Security Leader (BISL) and product delivery teams to enable business technology teams to deliver secure products, providing on‑demand engagement, threat modeling, and security engineering guidance. The role requires a broad and strong understanding of multiple security domains and secure development on multiple cloud platforms, applying a risk‑based and data‑driven approach to assess initiatives and deliver solutions that address security engineering risks across the full technology stack.
