Job summary

UltraTech Cement is seeking a skilled laboratory and process specialist to provide technical services for the implementation of grinding aids (GA) aimed at improving clinker factor and cement performance across UTCL units.

You will plan and schedule lab and plant trials, visit units to monitor execution, calibrate instruments, prepare reports, ensure SOP and EHS compliance, and guide staff to enhance technical competency while driving timely testing and successful trial completion.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and scheduling lab and plant trials for grinding aids.
• Knowledge of clinker factors and cement performance.
• Ability to supervise laboratory activities and ensure safety.
• Experience with calibration of laboratory instruments.
• Familiarity with SOPs and EHS guidelines.
• Ability to prepare and submit trial reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical services for GA implementation to improve clinker factor and cement performance across UTCL & ICL units.
• Plan, schedule and coordinate lab and plant trials for GA for raw mills and cement mills in coordination with plant teams.
• Visit cement units to monitor and ensure proper execution of lab and plant trials as per plan.
• Ensure completion of all trials and successful implementation.
• Conduct chemical and physical analysis of clinker, cement and other input materials as per the development plan.
• Ensure timely completion of testing as per the scheduled plan.
• Prepare and submit draft reports to the reporting manager for review.
• Perform systematic calibration of identified laboratory instruments.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs and quality standards.
• Ensure availability and proper storage of raw materials required for trials and product development.
• Conduct trials related to Grinding Aid and admixture development for cement and concrete.
• Provide guidance to laboratory staff and plant personnel to enhance their technical competency.
• Supervise daily laboratory activities and ensure safety compliance.
• Comply with all company and statutory environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines.
• Manage and direct QC resources, operations, and facilities to ensure adherence to quality systems.
