Job summary

Hero MotoCorp Ltd. in India invites a senior Quality Assurance professional to lead QA initiatives across machine shops, engine and frame assemblies, and standard rooms to ensure the highest quality of HMCL parts and vehicles.

The role requires planning audits, driving Build Up Quality, and coordinating calibration labs to maintain ISO 17025 compliance while working with internal and external stakeholders to reduce warranty and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Graduation in Engineering.
• 7-8 years in manufacturing experience.
• 4-5 years in automotive sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA and improvement projects across machine shops and assemblies to ensure highest quality.
• Plan and execute audits of manufacturing processes/parts to identify gaps and restore quality.
• Coordinate calibration lab activities and ensure gauges/instruments meet ISO 17025 requirements and are available on the shop floor.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for product/process improvements and warranty reduction.

Lead implementation of quality assurance and improvement projects in the Machine Shops (Al/Steel phase, Gear section, Heat treatment), Engine assembly, Frame Assembly and Standard Room in the plant, to ensure highest quality of HMCL manufactured parts & vehicles

A purpose driven role for you

Ensure analysis of Market and Internal Quality issues related to Machine, Frame & Engine plant, to ensure quick resolution and reduction in warranty cases
Execute Quality improvement activities and initiatives for improvement in ‘Build Up Quality’
Plan and Manage for Audits of manufacturing processes /parts related to Engine for identification of Gaps & restoration, reduce Engine defect % in Final Inspection.
Manage new model stabilisation ensuring zero defect new model launch

Standard Room & Calibration Lab

• Plan and drive the inspection & calibration activities to ensure precision & timely inspection & calibration support for the entire plant so as to prevent the non-conformities.
• Ensure availability of calibrated gauges & instruments at line as per requirements for inspection of components at shop floor to meet the ISO 17025 requirements.

A Day in the life

Multiple manpower models (tenure-based) and IR-related manpower issues
Finished product quality dependent on multiple stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal & external stakeholders for: Product/Process Improvements, Gauge Design, Equipment maintenance, Ordering of Capital Equipment, Manpower Recruitment, Training, Improve Quality of Bought out Parts, Resolution of market issues, Improvement in design, Procurement of gauges, TPM, Leadership Reviews, Policy Deployment, Best Practices Deployment, IMS & NABL audits, Gauges calibration

Academic Qualification & Experience

• Graduation in Engineering
• Minimum 7-8 years of experience in manufacturing, and 4-5 years in an automotive firm
