Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY TECHNOLOGY SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED in Chennai seeks a design engineer to handle electrical protection and secondary engineering on GIS/AIS substations. You will prepare Protection SLD, schematics, BOMs, and coordinate with customers and project teams.

You will review vendor drawings, size CT/VT, select relays, and ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE standards while collaborating with tendering and site teams to support the full project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD design tools and E3 (optional).
• AIS/GIS substation equipment knowledge (66 kV+) and protection concepts.
• Familiar with IEC/IEEE standards for secondary engineering.

Responsibilities

• Protection SLD showing IEDs with protection and metering functions.
• Review vendor drawings and document with technical requirements (Control & Relay panels, SCMS, Metering, etc.).
• Read schematic diagrams and interface Control & Relay panel schemes with SCADA/SAS.
• Design LVAC & DC load requirements and LV board SLDs.
