Job summary

Capco is seeking an SDET Automation Test Engineer with Java and Playwright in Bengaluru. The role requires 5+ years in automation testing and strong UI/API testing skills.

You will implement Playwright-based UI tests, REST Assured API tests, and integrate tests into CI/CD using Jenkins, with hands-on experience in Java, Selenium, and Git workflows. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams on complex banking and financial services projects, ensuring high-quality releases, robust test

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of automation testing experience.
• Strong object-oriented programming skills in Java.
• Hands-on with Playwright and Selenium for UI automation.
• Experience with API testing using REST Assured.
• Continuous integration/delivery experience with Jenkins.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts for web apps.
• Create robust UI tests using Playwright and Selenium frameworks.
• Develop API test suites and validate HTTP responses (JSON/XML).
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and Git.
• Troubleshoot flaky tests and improve test stability.

Job Description

Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts, experience with Java collections, exceptions, and file I/O Testing frameworks: Junit/TestNG Test Automation IDE: Selenium/Playwright for UI automation Proficiency in SQL for writing and executing queries Solid understanding of Rest Assured for API Testing, understanding of HTTP methods, Status Codes, and JSON/XML parsing Strong expertise with Jenkins for CI/CD Competence in using Git and GitHub for source code management

Testing frameworks: Junit/TestNG - hands-on knowledge in any of these 2 technologies should be good Test Automation IDE: Selenium/Playwright for UI automation - hands-on knowledge in any of these 2 technologies should be good Familiarity with build tools like Maven or Gradle for project dependency management and build automation Familiarity with IDEs (e.g. Visual Studio Code, IntelliJ, etc.) Good understanding of Linux systems and command-line tools Ability to work effectively in a DevOps environment where Dev and QA collaborate closely Strong troubleshooting, problem solving and analytical skills Strong oral and written communications skills Constantly strive to learn new technologies and look for ways to stay up to date in this rapidly changing industry
