Job summary

S&P Global is seeking a seasoned Agile Release Train Engineer/PM to manage and optimize large-scale agile initiatives. You will facilitate ART events, support PI planning, and drive lean‑agile practices across cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.

You will lead program management activities, manage risks, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure on‑time delivery of value. Strong communication and a servant leadership approach are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of technology infrastructure or software development life cycle (SDLC) and engineering processes.
  • Experience with both traditional project management and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks such as Scrum and SAFe, with experience managing Agile Release Trains.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across teams and departments.
  • PMP certification and/or SAFe RTE certification preferred.
  • Experience facilitating large events/meetings with multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to eliminate cross‑team dependencies and manage risks to deliver value to customers.
  • Emotional intelligence, diplomacy, listening, and clear communication.

Responsibilities

  • Guide project-related reports, processes, and tools for team members and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project initiatives and prioritize tasks.
  • Host project management meetings daily, weekly, and monthly to update on progress and action items.
  • Own system performance, operate autonomously, and drive initiatives to completion.
  • Conduct analyses and translate findings into actionable recommendations for operations.
  • Lead and inspire teams, embedding S&P Global's values in day-to-day work.
  • Advise on decisions using data-driven insights and research.
  • Facilitate PI Planning and ART events to optimize value flow.
  • Support PI execution with progress tracking and synchronization events.
  • Act as servant leader to the ART, fostering lean-agile mindsets and continuous improvement.
  • Optimize value flow by mapping value streams and reducing cross-team dependencies.

About the Role

Grade Level (for internal use): 12
Manage and optimize operational systems and processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Provide expertise in specialized fields, maintaining an in-depth understanding of market dynamics and team practices. Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to drive synergy and operational success. Accountable for maintaining, supporting and exchanging information and information centre i.e., SharePoint Site, Serena Project Management Tool, ADO, Ariba, communication emails among multiple teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Assisted team members and stakeholders by guiding them through project‑related reports, processes, and tools.
  • Actively involved in discussions with teammates to assist in contributing to team initiatives, prioritizing tasks, resolving issues, adapting new processes, and innovating new ways of fulfilling tasks.
  • Hosts project management meetings on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis with the team members on open action items and with leadership to provide updates and status on multiple stages of projects.
  • Take ownership of system performance, with a focus on delivering results and managing resources efficiently. Operate with autonomy, offering little need for supervision while driving initiatives to completion.
  • Conduct detailed analysis, applying findings to improve functional operations and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Lead and inspire teams to align with S&P Global's purpose and values, embedding these principles in day‑to‑day work.
  • Advise on and influence decision‑making through well‑researched analysis and data‑driven insights.
  • Facilitate PI Planning and ART events and processes, supporting teams and optimizing ART flow of value.
  • Support PI execution by tracking progress, facilitating periodic synchronization events, ART backlog refinement, and promoting DevOps and continuous delivery.
  • Act as servant leader and coach the ART, fostering lean‑agile mindsets and practices, collaboration, continuous flow, and relentless improvement.
  • Optimize flow by ensuring smooth flow of value, establishing ART flow measures, accelerating flow, facilitating value stream mapping, and reducing/eliminating cross‑team dependencies.

  • Project lifecycle management: lead and oversee all phases of traditional project lifecycles, including planning, scope definition, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration: collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure timely delivery of project goals while managing stakeholder communication and expectations.
  • Agile Release Train (ART) facilitation: facilitate and manage key ART events, including program increment planning, inspect & adapt workshops, and system demos.
  • Agile coaching and support: coach and support Scrum teams, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters in implementing agile principles and best practices.
  • Program risk and dependency management: manage program‑level risks, dependencies, and impediments to ensure alignment with the ART roadmap.
  • Leadership and collaboration: proven ability to lead both traditional and agile teams, aligning a shared sense of purpose.
  • Stakeholder management: effectively communicate project goals, progress, risks, and changes to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Agile expertise: deep understanding of agile frameworks such as Scrum and SAFe and experience facilitating large‑scale agile initiatives.

Base Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Technology, or Operations.
  • Certified SAFe RTE, Scrum Master, CSM, A‑CSM, or equivalents preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience with a strong track record, including 2+ years of project management or Scrum Master experience for internal products in high‑growth environments.
  • Domain knowledge in engineering processes and practices (Infrastructure, Operations, Software Engineering) and agile practices or certification.
  • Prior experience with ADO, JIRA, or similar tools.
