Job summary

EY is seeking an Implementation Consultant Staff to join the Global Delivery Services team in India. You will support manufacturing transformation, data analysis and the deployment of process improvements across client sites, working with cross-functional teams and EY practitioners.

You will collaborate with client teams to assess current models, design future-state solutions, and help implement performance management systems leveraging Power BI and other analytics tools.

The Opportunity

Were looking for a consultant with experience in Manufacturing and Operational Excellence to join EY GDS‑SC&O. This is an exciting opportunity to work on manufacturing transformation and operational excellence engagements across industries and geographies. You will work closely with client teams and EY practitioners to support the assessment, design, and implementation of manufacturing transformation initiatives, helping clients improve productivity, reliability, quality, and operational performance.

You will be responsible for executing tasks with increasing autonomy, applying sound judgment within defined parameters, and contributing to team outcomes. You are expected to demonstrate initiative, resolve routine issues independently, and support junior colleagues.

You will anticipate and identify risks within engagements and share any issues with senior members of the team.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Support analysis of as-is operating models for manufacturing clients and identify performance improvement opportunities
• Assist in developing future-state manufacturing operating models aligned with business objectives and performance targets
• Support the design and implementation of manufacturing transformation frameworks and performance management systems
• Support deployment of Manufacturing Excellence work processes across sites, ensuring adherence to standards, governance, and capability-building initiatives
• Participate in Operational Excellence programs focused on productivity, reliability, quality, and supply chain performance improvement
• Support change management initiatives, training programs, and capability-building activities at shop-floor and leadership levels
• Assist in implementing Smart Factory and Digital Manufacturing solutions
• Support the implementation of improvement initiatives such as OEE improvement, TPM, SMED, Predictive Maintenance, 5S, Continuous Improvement, and quality enhancement programs
• Engage with shop-floor teams to understand operational challenges, collect data, and support implementation of improvement initiatives
• Assist in digital transformation engagements involving Power BI, MES, Industrial IoT, Advanced Analytics, and Smart Factory technologies
• Support assessment and utilization of manufacturing systems including MES, ERP, QMS, CMMS/EAM, and manufacturing analytics platforms
• Perform data analysis on manufacturing and operational data and generate actionable insights for client stakeholders
• Support governance activities, KPI tracking, maturity assessments, and benefits realization efforts
• Prepare client presentations, workshop materials, analyses, and implementation documentation
• Contribute to development of EY manufacturing transformation methodologies, assets, and knowledge repositories
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional and global teams to deliver client engagements successfully

Ideally, you’ll also

• Experience with analytics and visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire, Minitab, and Advanced Excel
• Working knowledge of MES, ERP (SAP preferred), QMS, CMMS/EAM, APS, SCADA, Historian, and Industrial IoT platforms
• Experience in manufacturing analytics, data analysis, and operational performance reporting
• Exposure to production planning, inventory management, supply chain planning, and network optimization

What we look for

• 2-5 years of experience in Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Performance Improvement, Reliability, Maintenance, Supply Chain Operations, or Manufacturing Transformation
• Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, Operational Excellence, Industry 4.0, and Digital Transformation concepts
• At least 1-2 years of implementation consulting experience in Operational Excellence, Manufacturing Transformation, Smart Factory, or Digital Manufacturing engagements.
• Prior experience working in a consulting, advisory, manufacturing transformation, or operations excellence environment
• Experience supporting client‑facing projects and transformation initiatives
• Willingness to travel internationally on short- and medium‑term assignments, as required
