Job summary

Cipla Ltd. in Mumbai (Vikhroli) is seeking a Scientist (Polymorphism) in the API R&D department. The role reports to COE Polymorphism & Crystallization and targets advancing pre-formulation and solid-state projects.

The candidate will conduct literature surveys, coordinate with formulation teams, and perform polymorph screening and comprehensive characterization using in-house analytical tools.

We are hiring a Scientist (Polymorphism) role in Cipla Ltd. based in Mumbai, Vikhroli.

Responsibilities:

• 1. Conduct literature survey for various projects related to pre-formulation activities.
• 2. Co-ordinate with respective formulation team and support them with respect to pre-formulation activities.
• 3. Perform pre-formulation studies of APIs, including solubility and dissolution.
• 4. Conduct drug-excipient compatibility studies.
• 5. Shortlist suitable excipients based on literature and experimental knowledge in coordination with respective formulation team.
• 6. Examine the RLD for its physical, chemical, and in-vitro biological properties as required for the respective project.
• 7. Conduct polymorph screening experiments whenever required.
• 8. Characterize the discovered solid forms by using inhouse PXRD, DSC, TGA, microscopy, Particle size analyser, KF, Potentiometer, etc.
• 9. Enter details of daily experiments in the ELN.
• 10. Submit properly labelled samples to ADL for analysis and enter conclusions based on ADL's analytical results in the ELN.
• 11. Procure chemicals and consumables required for pre-formulation studies.
• 12. Procure consumables required for particle size analyser, KF, Potentiometer, dissolution apparatus.
• 13. Responsible for analysis and calibration of pH meters, weighing balances, Dissolution tester/apparatus, particle size analyser, KF/Potentiometer.
• 14. Follow up on the indent with the purchase department.
• 15. Dispense raw materials required for experiments from the stores.
• 16. Update the logbook after using equipment/instruments.
• 17. Prepare the required reports and discuss them with the group leader.
• 18. Prepare EOPs and IOPs and conduct training sessions.
• 19. Maintain GLP and safety standards.
• 20. Maintain the area as per responsibility, including opening and closing the laboratory, cleanliness, safety, and maintenance of all equipment/instruments.
• 21. Prepare URS, qualification, and requalification reports of equipment and instruments.
• 22. In the absence of an employee, their responsibilities shall be managed by their higher-ups.
• 23. Perform document-related activities through Cipdox software (Document Management System) based on the roles and rights provided in the application.
• 24. Perform training-related activities through LMS software (Learning Management System) based on the roles and rights provided in the application.
