Job summary

Corning Inc. in Gurgaon seeks a senior laboratory expert to design, analyze, and report on experiments to solve complex problems and advance understanding. The role serves as a technical expert, supports internal customers, maintains lab operations, and contributes to IP development.

You will lead and train team members, influence experimental directions, and drive process improvements, ensuring high-quality data and SOP documentation for ongoing projects.

Responsibilities

• Acts as technical expert for all lab techniques and responsibilities
• Provides oversight for operation and maintenance of highly technical equipment
• Provides inputs to experiment design and execution for material properties and processes
• Develops methods, tools and techniques to improve processes in the lab
• Provides inputs to the writing of IDs and IPs
• Makes recommendations for purchasing new equipment, including vendors, quotes and orders
• Troubleshoots process and equipment issues and oversees corrective actions
• Conducts day-to-day problem solving for research projects
• Tests feasibility of products
• Documents data, maintains lab books, writes SOPs and reports
• Works with customers to understand their needs to run and test samples
• Accesses, analyzes and presents data at team meetings
• Functions as a team member or team leader on focused projects
• Trains and coaches new personnel on equipment and processes
• May participate in developing a new process or machine to improve the current process
