Job summary

PI Industries Ltd. is seeking a Research Scientist - Special Technologies to develop processes using flow chemistry and drive scale-up from lab to pilot and commercial stages.

The role involves literature survey, bench-scale trials, SOP preparation, and close collaboration with PD, KL, pilot, and commercial teams. The candidate will lead flow technology projects, map reactor/pump choices, and ensure timely delivery with target yields while maintaining safety and housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate in Organic Chemistry from a reputed university.
• Experience in flow chemistry/technology.
• Hands-on experience with flow reactors (static and dynamic).
• Experience handling different types of pumps.
• Knowledge of data management and analytical data interpretation.
• Proficient in documentation and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop processes using flow chemistry (Micro/Meso reactors).
• Map suitable reactors and pumps for flow development.
• Identify equipment for downstream continuous manufacturing.
• Generate data for DOE scale-up studies.
• Ensure seamless scale-up up to KL/PP and safe housekeeping.
• Deliver projects on time with target yield and quality.
• Drive collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Career Opportunities: Research Scientist - Special Technologies (9619)

• The Position will be responsible for development of assigned project within given timeframe using new Technology.
• This includes thorough literature survey, bench scale trials, preparation of SOPs, necessary documentation.
• This would also include Demo of developed chemical process to PD team, support in KL, pilot plant and commercial plant for successful technology transfer.

Strategic Responsibilities

To understand the objective of project / chemistry / MSDS

• Search the additional literature as required.
• Inputs in planning of experiments/ glassware/ raw materials/ analysis
• To ensure proper maintenance of lab equipments.
• Proper house- keeping and use of PPE’s.
• Use relevant MSDS for safe handling and disposals of toxic chemicals

Operational Responsibilities

Development of processes using flow chemistry (Micro /Meso–reactors).

• Mapping the suitable reactor & pumps for development of process in Flow Technology
• Finding out suitable equipment for downstream operation for continuous manufacturing.
• To generate data for carrying out scale-up study using Design of Experiment mechanism
• To ensure seamless efficient scale-up of the process developed by working closely with Process Chemist team.
• To identify the cost reduction opportunities in the projects already running at commercial scale using flow technology.
• Drive optimum utilization of all available resources
• Ensure on time delivery of assigned project in terms of:
  • On time delivery with target yield and quality.
  • Smooth scale-up up to KL/PP
  • Ensuring the safety & house keeping

Education Qualification
