Job summary

Rachna Sagar is seeking an experienced Science Editor to edit and proofread Science content (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, EVS) for children's books (K-8). You will ensure accuracy, age-appropriate language, and conceptual clarity while aligning manuscripts with NCERT/CBSE curriculum.

You will verify diagrams, simplify concepts for young learners, coordinate with authors and internal teams, review proofs, and help maintain high editorial quality within production timelines.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience as a Science Editor in an educational publishing house.
• Bachelor’s degree in science; postgraduate degree preferred.
• Strong proofreading, copy-editing, and content development skills.

• Verify scientific facts, diagrams, tables, activities, and illustrations.


• Simplify complex scientific concepts for young learners.


• Coordinate with authors, illustrators, designers, and internal editorial teams.


• Review page proofs/PDFs and provide clear, detailed correction instructions.


• Ensure high editorial quality while meeting production timelines.

Qualification:

• Bachelors degree required; graduate/postgraduate in Science preferred.


• 5-7 years of experience as a Science Editor in an educational publishing house, especially children's books.

Skills Required:

• Strong proofreading, copy-editing, and content development skills


• Excellent subject knowledge of School-level Science (K8)


• Experience with AI tools and technologies is preferred.
