Job summary

Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is leading a greenfield venture building India’s first AI-enabled semiconductor foundry. The Senior SCADA/Automation Engineer will lead installation and configuration of SCADA, IEDs/RTUs, and HMI development, ensuring robust network, security, and FAT/SAT testing across power and large-scale utility systems.

Qualifications

• BE (Electrical/Electronics) degree mandatory.
• 8–12 years of SCADA/automation experience required.
• Experience with IEC 61850 and related protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead the installation and configuration of SCADA & EnMS servers, clients, historian, engineering workstations, and network switches.
• Develop complete SCADA architecture including graphics, alarms, events, reports, trends, SOE logs, and user access levels.
• Configure and integrate IEDs, RTUs/PLCs, Ethernet switches, firewalls, HMI development, and third-party devices with SCADA server.
• Perform database creation, optimization, and backup/restore setup for power system SCADA projects.
• Demonstrate knowledge of IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104/101, DNP3, Modbus RTU/TCP, OPC.
• Understand substation schemes, single-line diagrams, system architecture, control drawings, panel drawings, interlock schematics.
• Prepare I/O lists, architecture diagrams, communication block diagrams, cable schedules, and network layouts.
• Design LAN/WAN networks, cybersecurity layers, redundant servers, HMIs, historian systems, and interface devices.
• Test, validate, and troubleshoot SCADA systems based on engineering docs and schemes.
• Prepare and execute FAT and SAT tests.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the installation and configuration of SCADA & EnMS servers, clients, historian, engineering workstations, and network switches.
• Hands-on experience in developing complete SCADA architecture, including creation of graphics, alarms, events, reports, trends, SOE logs, and user access levels for power and large-scale utility electrical systems (preferably Schneider Electric EcoStruxure solutions).
• Configure and integrate IEDs, RTUs/PLCs, Ethernet switches, firewalls, HMI development, communication setups, and third-party devices with the SCADA server.
• Perform database creation, optimization, and backup/restore setup for power system and large-scale utility SCADA automation projects.
• Possess strong knowledge of communication protocols such as IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, IEC 60870-5-101, DNP3, Modbus RTU/TCP, OPC, etc.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of substation schemes, single-line diagrams, system architecture, control drawings, panel drawings, and interlock schematics.
• Prepare and validate I/O lists, architecture diagrams, communication block diagrams, cable schedules, network layouts, etc.
• Design LAN/WAN communication networks, cybersecurity layers, redundant servers, HMIs, historian systems, and interface devices.
• Test, validate, and troubleshoot SCADA and automation systems based on engineering documents and functional schemes.
• Prepare and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
