Job summary

Cosmoserve Space is seeking a Satellite EPS Engineer to design, develop, test and validate power subsystems for spacecraft. You will handle power generation, storage and distribution, battery management and interface with avionics and mechanical teams across mission phases.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in power electronics, circuit design and lab testing, with knowledge of LTspice or MATLAB/Simulink, and space-grade components. This is a full-time role located in Hyderabad.

Qualifications

• 0-5 years in power electronics or satellite power systems.
• Strong DC-DC, battery management and power distribution knowledge.
• Experience with power budgeting, circuit design and testing.
• Proficient with LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink and PCB tools.
• Hands-on with oscilloscopes and lab instruments.
• Familiar with space-grade EPS architectures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop satellite EPS including power generation, storage and distribution.
• Perform power budgeting, solar sizing and battery capacity calculations.
• Design and analyze DC-DC converters, regulators, charging and distribution circuits.
• Work on Li-ion battery systems and protection circuits.
• Conduct circuit simulation, component selection, thermal and efficiency analyses.
• Support PCB reviews, hardware bring-up, testing and system integration.
• Create test procedures and verification reports.
• Collaborate with avionics, embedded software and mechanical teams.

Job Description:

We are looking for a Satellite Electrical Power Systems (EPS) Engineer with hands-on experience in power electronics in Avionics Domain, battery systems and electrical hardware development. The candidate will be responsible for the design, development, analysis and testing of satellite power subsystems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop satellite Electrical Power Systems (EPS), including power generation, storage and distribution.
• Perform power budgeting, solar array sizing and battery capacity calculations for different mission phases.
• Design and analyse DC-DC converters, voltage regulators, battery charging and power distribution circuits.
• Work on lithium-ion battery systems, battery monitoring and protection circuits.
• Perform circuit simulation, component selection, thermal analysis and power efficiency assessments.
• Support PCB design reviews, hardware bring-up, functional testing and system integration.
• Prepare technical documentation, test procedures and verification reports.
• Collaborate with avionics, embedded software and mechanical engineering teams.

Required Skills

• 0-5 years of experience in power electronics, embedded hardware or satellite power systems.
• Strong understanding of DC-DC converters, battery management systems and power distribution.
• Experience with power budgeting, circuit design and electrical hardware testing.
• Proficiency in LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink, Altium Designer or equivalent tools.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, electronic loads and other laboratory instruments.
• Knowledge of satellite EPS architecture and space-grade component selection is desirable.

Required Qualification:

B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electrical, Electronics or Power Electronics Engineering

Required Experince:

3-5 Years with B.Tech or 0-3 Years with M tech / PHD With Thesis on EPS

Preferred Experience:

Experience in CubeSat, nanosatellite or other space-related power electronics development will be an added advantage.
