Job summary

Inter IKEA Group in Bengaluru, India is seeking a Supply Planner to join a small, three-member team focused on improving logistics efficiency and reducing total landed cost across the IKEA supply chain. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and collaboration with suppliers and internal partners.

You will secure capacity data, contribute to tactical planning, and maintain accurate system data while driving best replenishment and delivery solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics preferred.
• 8–12 years relevant work experience in supply chain/logistics.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with data-driven mindset.
• Proficiency in Excel and BI tools; ability to visualize data for decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Secure operational capacities by ensuring high-quality capacity data from suppliers and proactive collaboration with Need Planner and Supplier.
• Contribute to tactical capacity planning based on supplier performance and agreed capacity.
• Update and maintain business setup information in systems; monitor reports to detect deviations and act accordingly.
• Prepare suppliers for optimal replenishment and delivery solutions; monitor delivery performance and lead-times.
• Identify best logistics offers; implement, maintain and review arrangements with total cost in mind.
• Plan and execute optimal set-ups for range changes, supplier constraints, and activity periods.
• Monitor supplier delivery performance and ensure timely shipping from suppliers.
• Coordinate data gathering and reporting across Logistics, Engineering and Supplier Development to enable informed decision-making.

As Purchasing Development, we purchase the materials and the production capacity to produce both home furnishing products and food. We have more than 1,200 co‑workers global wide and operates in 27 locations, this includes 4 category areas: Wood, Textile Furnishings, Electronics & Home Accessories, Metal, Plastic & Float Glass, comprising various categories within each area.

You will work in a small, 3-member micro‑team with a Business Developer, who negotiates prices and takes care of the overall commercial relation with the supplier, and a Production Engineer who takes care about production process and quality. As part of the annual action plan that your team will comprise, you will be responsible for improving the logistics process in order to ethically reduce logistics costs in the overall IKEA supply chain. You will also perform:

• Secure operational capacities by ensuring high quality of capacity data from suppliers and by working continuously towards exceptions together with Need Planner and Supplier in a proactive manner.
• Contribute to tactical capacity planning based on supplier performance on agreed capacity.
• Update and secure correct business set-up information in all relevant systems. Furthermore work with systems and reports, to proactively detect and act on possible deviations from goal.
• Prepare suppliers for best replenishment and delivery solutions by continuously maintaining & developing supplier delivery performance and sender lead‑times.
• Contribute to identifying best logistical offer, furthermore implement, maintain and review by having customer and total cost in mind.
• Actively contribute in the planning and execution of the best set‑up for range changes at supplier, constraints periods and activities.
• Continuously follow-up, analyse and take action to improve supplier delivery performance and ensure goods are shipped in time from suppliers.
• Secure correct availability information from supplier to IKEA Retail in such quality that it can be for the benefit of customers.
• Develop and maintain suppliers’ logistic competence towards becoming responsible on their own performance through: working closely with suppliers, running Supplier Development Projects and providing them relevant trainings & working methods.
• For various reporting purposes secure a consistent foundation, gather, process and compile data linking to Logistics, Engineering and Supplier Development to enabling decision making, preparing/visualization the different source of data, showing the history, trends, benchmarking, connection between different data.
• Working with multiple Business Teams, collecting, organizing, interpreting, and analyzing data related to purchasing activities. Contribute with experience and analytical expertise with the objective to extract meaningful and actionable insights from available data to support, fact-based decision-making.

We are looking for the people with knowledge of supplier capabilities, material, production flow, capacity planning. You have the ability to take the leadership to ensure supplier has goods ready in time and in full in order to fulfil customers’ need at lowest possible landed cost. You are able to translate the Category Plan into logistics solutions and always keep Total IKEA and Total Cost Development in mind.

To be successful in this role, below competencies are important for you.

• Degree with Supply Chain/Logistics certifications preferred
• Relevant work experience of 8 to 12 years prefereed
• Knowledge of supply chain logistics including different restocking as well as a good understanding of capacity planning,
• Good leadership skill to lead and develop suppliers in planning and logistic topics
• Analytical skills and excellent knowledge and usage of needed tools/applications such as, Advanced Excel, Power BI etc.
• Advanced knowledge of statistics, analysis methodologies, reporting and data visualization tools
• Strong communication skills and team work
• Ability to manage time well, to balance between the factory floor and office work.
• Strong business sense and cost conscious

This position will be based in Bangalore, India. Traveling is a part of the assignment since our Supply Planners work closely with our suppliers.

This is a permanent position located in Bengaluru, India.
