Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a senior Vertex Tax consultant to implement and configure Vertex O-Series and Vertex Q Series within SAP Finance frameworks. You will drive tax rules, data master setup, and journal reporting while coordinating with Tax, IT and Finance teams to ensure accurate tax calculation and compliance.

The role requires 7+ years of Vertex experience, strong knowledge of US tax regulations, and hands-on experience with SAP ECC/S/4HANA integrations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Vertex O-Series 9.0 and Vertex Q Series consulting with SAP Finance
• Strong knowledge of US tax rules and taxability drivers
• Experience creating tax rules, customization, master data, and tax journal reporting
• Ability to coordinate with Tax, IT and Finance teams

Responsibilities

• Lead Vertex tax configuration for Sales & Use Tax per requirements
• Ensure integration with SAP ECC/S/4HANA
• Develop and validate tax rules and logic
• Lead testing (unit/integration/UAT) and provide user training
• Maintain documentation of configuration and processes

Job description

• Implement and configure Vertex tax engine (O Series or Cloud) for Sales & Use Tax per requirement
• Knowledge of Technical Integration of Vertex with ERP platforms such as SAP ECC, S/4HANA
• 7+ years in VERTEX O-Series 9.0, Vertex Q Series consulting experience of SAP Finance with VERTEX US Tax Knowledge
• Taxability Driver knowledge is required
• Create Tax Rules as requested, experience in Vertex customization, master data, and Tax Journal reporting
• Customize new taxpayers (SAP company codes) for projects
• Coordinate with Tax, IT, and Finance teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
• Monitor and troubleshoot tax calculation and integration issues across systems
• Analyze business transactions and apply accurate tax rules and logic for determination
• Lead system testing (unit, integration, UAT) and provide training to users
• Maintain documentation on configuration, rule logic, and support processes
