Job Summary

The SAP Transportation Management (TM) Consultant is responsible for implementing, configuring, and optimizing SAP TM solutions within manufacturing and logistics environments. The role focuses on inbound logistics, inter-plant transportation, outbound distribution, freight cost management, and integration with multiple SAP modules to improve supply chain efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure transportation planning for procurement and raw material logistics.
• Integrate SAP TM with SAP MM purchase orders and inbound deliveries.
• Manage vendor freight agreements and freight charge calculations.
• Configure transportation for STO-based and multi-leg transportation scenarios.
• Optimize routing between plants, warehouses, and distribution centers.
• Integrate SAP TM with SAP SD outbound delivery processes.
• Configure freight unit building, carrier selection, tendering, and settlement processes.
• Support export shipment and distribution operations.
• Configure freight cost management and FI integration for cost postings.
• Collaborate with SAP SD, MM, PP, EWM, and FI/CO teams.
• Support testing cycles (SIT/UAT), cutover activities, and troubleshooting.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4–7 years of SAP experience with minimum 3+ years in SAP TM.
• Strong experience in manufacturing logistics environments.
• Expertise in order-based and delivery-based transportation.
• Knowledge of Freight Unit Building Rules and Planning & Optimization (VSR).
• Experience in Charge Management and Settlement Management.
• Exposure to STO scenarios and procurement transportation.
• Experience with multi-plant transportation network configuration.
• Hands-on experience in at least one full-cycle SAP TM implementation or rollout.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing supply chain flows.
• Ability to optimize freight costs and manage high shipment volumes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Embedded TM or standalone TM environments.
• Exposure to export logistics and global transportation processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
