Job summary

Daimler Truck Innovation Center India (DTICI) is seeking an experienced SAP Technical Architect to design, develop, and enhance SAP planning solutions for Production Planning and Supply Chain Planning within SAP S/4HANA.

You will work on high-performance planning processes using ABAP/ABAP OO, IDoc/RFC/OData interfaces, and SAP AIF monitoring, collaborating with global teams in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• 10–12 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development in Production Planning or Logistics.
• Strong experience in interface development and enterprise data integration.
• Experience with SAP PP-DS in a modern SAP S/4HANA landscape.
• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/Engineering or related field.
• Hybrid work model with overlap to CET business hours.

We're Hiring | SAP Technical Architect – Supply Chain & Production Planning (eSPP)

Are you passionate about building high-performance SAP planning solutions? We are looking for an experienced SAP Technical Architect to design, develop, and enhance SAP solutions supporting Production Planning and Supply Chain Planning (eSPP) within a modern SAP S/4HANA landscape.

This role offers the opportunity to work on business-critical planning processes, leveraging technologies such as SAP AIF, ABAP, ABAP OO, SAP PP/PP-DS, and SAP BTP while collaborating with global teams.

What You'll Do

Solution Development

• Develop and extend SAP functionality for Production Planning and Supply Chain Planning using ABAP/ABAP OO.
• Build and maintain interfaces between planning systems and the SAP core using IDoc, RFC, OData, CIF, REST/SOAP APIs, with SAP AIF-based monitoring.
• Configure SAP PP / PP-DS and S/4HANA planning processes.
• Perform debugging, root cause analysis, performance optimization, and 3rd-level application support for large-volume planning environments.
• Create technical documentation and support testing, deployment, and go-live activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop reports, enhancements, and interfaces aligned with solution architecture and design standards.
• Configure production planning processes in collaboration with business stakeholders.
• Design reliable, high-performance integrations between planning and execution systems.
• Monitor interfaces and resolve issues using SAP AIF to ensure stable end-to-end planning operations.

Required Skills

Functional Expertise

• Strong understanding of Production Planning and Supply Chain Planning processes.
• Hands-on experience in the SAP PP planning environment.

Technical Expertise

• Strong ABAP and ABAP OO development skills.
• Experience with IDoc, RFC, OData/SAP Gateway, CIF, REST/SOAP integrations.
• Hands-on experience with SAP AIF, including interface implementation, monitoring, error handling, value mapping, and custom actions.
• Expertise in enhancement techniques such as BAdIs, User Exits, and Enhancements.
• Strong debugging and performance tuning skills, especially for high-volume data processing.
• Familiarity with Agile (Scrum), Clean Code principles, transport management, and ITIL basics.

Good to Have

• SAP PP-DS, SAP APO, or SAP IBP
• CDS Views, AMDP, RAP, and SAP BTP
• Experience with planning heuristics and optimization algorithms
• Automotive planning processes, including sequencing and program planning

Experience & Qualifications

• 10–12 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development, preferably within Production Planning or Logistics.
• Strong experience in interface development and enterprise data integration.
• Domain expertise in production planning or supply chain processes is an advantage.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Work on a modern SAP ecosystem featuring SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, and SAP AIF.
• Collaborate with globally distributed development teams in an offshore delivery model.
• Hybrid work model with overlap to Central European (CET) business hours.
• Partner with architects, planning teams, business stakeholders, and international service providers.

Language & Soft Skills

• Fluent English communication (written and verbal) is mandatory.
• German language skills are an added advantage.
