Job summary

Persistent Systems is seeking an experienced SAP SD Lead Consultant for Pune with 12–15 years of SAP SD and related experience. The role focuses on leading workshops, global template design, and end-to-end OTC processes from design through go-live.

You will oversee architecture reviews, configuration, testing, and release planning, while driving continuous service improvement and governance across large enterprise programs.

Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced SAP SD Lead Consultant with 12 to 15 years of expertise in SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) across SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong functional leadership capabilities, extensive SAP implementation and AMS experience, and a proven track record of delivering large-scale digital transformation and global rollout programs.

What You'll Do:

• Lead and facilitate requirement discovery workshops with business stakeholders.
• Drive global template design and process standardization initiatives.
• Conduct fit-gap analysis and define future-state business processes.
• Lead SAP SD solution architecture reviews and design governance activities.
• Oversee system configuration, testing, deployment, and release planning.
• Manage cutover planning, go-live execution, hypercare, and stabilization activities.
• Lead ECC to S/4HANA migration and transformation initiatives.
• Ensure alignment of SAP solutions with business objectives and industry best practices.
• Lead SAP SD application support and AMS engagements.
• Govern Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release Management
• Drive SLA and KPI compliance across support engagements.
• Manage critical business incidents and escalation handling.
• Conduct service review meetings and operational governance reviews.
• Drive continuous service improvement and process optimization initiatives.
• Ensure high-quality delivery and operational excellence.
• Lead end-to-end Order-to-Cash (OTC) solution design and implementation.
• Configure and optimize Sales Order Processing, Advanced Pricing, Rebate Management, Settlement Management, Credit Management, Returns Processing.

• Identify opportunities for process automation and business transformation.
• Partner with Sales, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, and Operations teams.

• Coordinate with technical, integration, and infrastructure teams.
• Support business process optimization and digital transformation initiatives.
• Ensure delivery milestones and project objectives are achieved successfully.
• Lead SAP SD functional workstreams across implementation and support programs.
• Mentor and guide junior consultants and functional teams.
• Conduct design reviews and ensure quality assurance across deliverables.
• Support estimation, proposal development, solutioning, and presales activities.
• Participate in RFP responses and customer presentations.
• Drive governance reviews, executive reporting, and project health assessments.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 12 to 15 years of SAP SD consulting experience.
• Strong expertise in Order-to-Cash (OTC), Advanced Pricing, Rebate Processing, Settlement Management, Credit Management, Returns Management, Logistics Execution, Customer Fulfillment
• Intercompany and Cross-Company Processes
• Strong understanding of end-to-end sales and distribution business processes.
• Extensive experience with SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA.
• Hands-on experience in S/4HANA Implementations, S/4HANA Migrations, Global Rollouts, Business Process Transformation, SAP Activate Methodology
• Minimum 3+ end-to-end SAP implementation projects.
• Experience leading AMS and production support engagements.
• Strong expertise in Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release Management, SLA Governance, KPI Monitoring
• Experience managing critical business escalations and service reviews.
• Experience leading functional workstreams and consulting teams.
• Strong client-facing consulting experience.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Proven experience managing large enterprise programs and transformations.
• Ability to drive governance, decision-making, and executive reporting.
