Job summary

EnQubes, Inc. seeks an SAP MDG Functional Consultant to drive a global SAP S/4HANA transformation, governing BP-Customer, BP-Supplier and Material Master.

You will own functional delivery from requirements through design, testing, training, deployment and hypercare, collaborating with global business SMEs and technical teams. You will lead MDG configuration in Classic Mode, work with ABAP/integration developers to review designs, and ensure successful unit testing, BST/UAT and traceability

Qualifications

• 7+ years SAP functional/techno-functional experience, including 4+ years hands-on SAP MDG.
• Hands-on MDG Classic Mode on S/4HANA for BP-Customer/BP-Supplier and Material Master.
• Strong collaboration with business SMEs and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Engage SMEs, Data Owners and Data Stewards in requirements workshops and document future-state MDG processes.
• Translate requirements into FDDs, user stories and acceptance criteria for MDG RICEFW objects (validations, derivations, workflow, UI, enhancements, reports, interfaces).

Job description

We are seeking an SAP MDG Functional Consultant to support a global SAP S/4HANA transformation. SAP MDG is co-deployed with S/4HANA in Classic Mode and governs Business Partner-Customer, Business Partner-Supplier, and Material Master. The consultant will own functional delivery from business requirements through design, development coordination, testing, training, deployment, and hypercare, collaborating with global business SMEs and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

Business Requirements and Functional Design

• Engage business SMEs, Data Owners and Data Stewards in requirements workshops, process walkthroughs and FIT/GAP analysis; document future-state MDG processes and governance controls.
• Translate requirements into functional design documents (FDDs), user stories and acceptance criteria for MDG RICEFW objects, including validations, derivations, workflow, UI, enhancements, reports, interfaces and conversions.
• Evaluate standard MDG configuration versus custom development; obtain design reviews and approvals with business stakeholders and the MDG Solution Architect.

Configuration and Development Coordination

• Configure or support MDG Classic Mode data/process modeling, Change Request types and steps, BRF+ rule-based workflow, validations/derivations, Web Dynpro/FPM UI and context-based adaptations.
• Work with ABAP and integration developers to clarify specifications, review technical approaches, answer questions, validate completed objects and support unit testing.
• Support Business Partner/CVI, Material Master, DRF replication, key/value mapping, duplicate checks and inbound/outbound integration requirements.

Testing, Defects and Quality

• Write detailed test scenarios and scripts for SIT, Business Simulation Testing (BST), UAT and regression, covering positive, negative, exception, workflow and end-to-end cases.
• Execute tests and capture evidence in Jira Xray; log and triage defects, coordinate fixes, retest and drive functional defect closure.
• Maintain requirements-to-design-to-test traceability; support business testers and cross-functional integration testing.

Agile Delivery and Reporting

• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews and retrospectives; provide story-point estimates for SAP MDG RICEFW objects based on functional and technical complexity.
• Own assigned functional deliverables and committed timelines; communicate progress, blockers, dependencies, risks and estimates to the SAP MDG Project Manager.
• Collaborate with the Scrum Master on sprint execution and Jira tracking; the Scrum Master owns scrum ceremonies and Jira administration.

Training, Rollout and Hypercare

• Prepare end-user guides, job aids and training materials; train requestors, data stewards, reviewers and approvers on Customer, Supplier and Material governance processes.
• Support deployment readiness, cutover, country/regional rollouts, production validation and hypercare; troubleshoot functional issues with business and technical teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, Business or a related field.
• 7+ years of SAP functional/techno-functional experience, including 4+ years of hands-on SAP MDG and at least one full lifecycle MDG implementation.
• Strong hands‑on experience with SAP MDG Classic Mode on S/4HANA, particularly Business Partner-Customer/Supplier and/or Material Master.
