Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Functional Lead to design and optimize SAP Integrated Business Planning solutions for consumer goods supply chains in a hybrid role based in Chennai. The position focuses on SAP IBP modules including Demand, Supply, Inventory, S&OP, Control Tower and CPI DS integrations to align planning with business goals.

The role requires 6–10 years of experience and involves global day shift delivery with no travel.

Qualifications

• Six to ten years of experience in supply chain management with a focus on consumer goods demand planning, supply planning and inventory optimization.
• Hands-on implementation and support experience in SAP IBP Demand, SAP IBP Supply, Time Series Optimiser, SAP IBP Inventory, S and OP and SAP IBP Control Tower across multiple projects.
• Apply practical knowledge of CPI DS integration scenarios for SAP IBP including data extraction, transformation, data quality checks and monitoring of planning relevant data flows.
• Solid understanding of core supply chain processes including demand planning, supply planning, distribution planning and S&OP in consumer goods organizations.
• Ability to analyze large sets of planning data, interpret KPIs, and translate analytical insights into SAP IBP configuration changes.
• Strong communication and workshop facilitation capabilities in hybrid work models.
• Familiarity with project delivery methodologies, documentation standards and testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end SAP IBP design across Demand, Supply, Inventory, S and OP and Control Tower to enable resilient and agile planning processes.
• Translate complex business requirements into integrated SAP IBP functional designs that improve forecast accuracy, service levels and working capital outcomes.
• Configure SAP IBP Demand and related demand planning processes to support forecasting, demand sensing and promotion planning.
• Optimize SAP IBP Supply and Time Series Optimiser models to balance capacity constraints and service levels while minimizing cost.
• Implement SAP IBP Inventory planning strategies to reduce excess stock and improve product availability.
• Set up and refine SAP IBP S and OP cycles that align demand, supply and financial plans for data driven decision making.
• Design and maintain SAP IBP Control Tower scenarios and alerts for real time visibility into supply chain exceptions.
• Configure and support CPI DS integrations to ensure reliable and timely data flows between SAP IBP and source systems.
• Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to validate planning designs and ensure solutions meet objectives.
• Develop detailed functional specifications, test scenarios and user acceptance criteria.
• Provide ongoing application support and continuous improvement for SAP IBP modules.
• Mentor junior practitioners on SAP IBP processes and configurations.
• Drive adoption of hybrid working with remote and on-site workshops and training.

Responsibilities

• Drive end to end SAP IBP design across Demand Supply Inventory S and OP and Control Tower to enable resilient and agile planning processes that directly support consumer goods supply chains
• Translate complex business requirements in supply chain management into integrated SAP IBP functional designs that improve forecast accuracy service levels and working capital outcomes
• Configure SAP IBP Demand and related demand planning processes to support statistical forecasting demand sensing and promotion planning tailored to consumer goods business scenarios
• Optimize SAP IBP Supply and Time Series Optimiser models to balance capacity constraints and service levels while minimizing cost and improving on time performance
• Implement SAP IBP Inventory planning strategies to reduce excess stock mitigate obsolescence risk and improve product availability across distribution networks in consumer goods environments
• Set up and refine SAP IBP S and OP cycles that align demand supply and financial plans enabling data driven decision making and improved consensus planning outcomes
• Design and maintain SAP IBP Control Tower scenarios and alerts to provide near real time visibility into supply chain exceptions and to orchestrate timely corrective actions
• Configure and support CPI DS integrations to ensure reliable and timely data flows between SAP IBP and source systems strengthening planning data quality and consistency
• Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders in supply chain finance sales and manufacturing to validate planning designs and ensure solutions meet operational and strategic objectives
• Conduct business workshops requirement gathering sessions and system demonstrations to guide stakeholders through best practices in integrated business planning for consumer goods
• Develop detailed functional specifications test scenarios and user acceptance criteria to ensure robust solution delivery and smooth adoption by planning and operations teams
• Provide ongoing application support issue resolution and continuous improvement enhancements for SAP IBP modules to keep planning capabilities aligned with evolving business needs
• Mentor junior practitioners on SAP IBP processes configuration practices and supply chain concepts so that the project team can deliver consistent and scalable outcomes
• Drive adoption of hybrid working practices by planning and conducting remote and on site workshops training sessions and support activities aligned to day shift operations without travel requirements

Qualifications

• Possess professional experience of six to ten years in supply chain management with a strong focus on consumer goods demand planning supply planning and inventory optimization
• Demonstrate hands on implementation and support experience in SAP IBP Demand SAP IBP Supply and Time Series Optimiser SAP IBP Inventory SAP IBP S and OP and SAP IBP Control Tower across multiple projects
• Apply practical knowledge of CPI DS integration scenarios for SAP IBP including data extraction transformation data quality checks and monitoring of planning relevant data flows
• Bring solid understanding of core supply chain processes including demand planning supply planning distribution planning and sales and operations planning in consumer goods organizations
• Show proven ability to analyze large sets of planning data interpret key performance indicators and translate analytical insights into process improvements and SAP IBP configuration changes

Certifications Required
