Job summary

Cognizant in India seeks a Functional Lead specialized in SAP Product Safety, Environment Management and PLM, with strong Health and Safety and Industrial Manufacturing experience. This hybrid role focuses on designing compliant SAP-based product safety and environmental solutions for global customers.

Responsibilities include end-to-end SAP design, integration with PLM, risk-based safety practices, data governance and stakeholder collaboration to drive efficient operations and regulatory

Qualifications

• Eight to twelve years of SAP experience with focus on Product Safety, Environment Management and PLM.
• Deep knowledge of Health and Safety processes including incident management and compliance reporting.
• Experience in Production Planning and Control in industrial manufacturing.
• Proven ability to gather requirements and translate them into SAP EHS and PLM configurations.
• Familiarity with data migration, master data governance and data quality for product safety and environmental data.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management for non-technical partners.

Responsibilities

• Configure and optimize SAP Environment Management to track emissions and compliance metrics.
• Translate Health and Safety requirements into SAP-based solutions to prevent incidents and enhance safety culture.
• Collaborate with production planning to integrate SAP PLM with planning processes.
• Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver SAP solutions.
• Guide creation/maintenance of product safety data within SAP for accurate info.
• Develop functional specs and partner with tech teams to deploy SAP enhancements.
• Perform system, integration, and user acceptance testing for SAP EHS/PLM.
• Provide expert support for incident resolution and problem management in SAP modules.
• Create user documentation and training content for SAP product safety/PLM.
• Drive continuous improvement by analyzing process data and SAP enhancements.
• Ensure solutions align with sustainability and regulatory frameworks.

Job Summary

This hybrid role is for a Functional Lead specializing in SAP Product Safety SAP Environment Management and SAP PLM with a strong background in Health and Safety and Industrial Manufacturing Production Planning and Control. The role focuses on designing secure and compliant product and environmental solutions using SAP enabling safer operations better regulatory adherence and improved efficiency for global customers.

Responsibilities

• Drive end to end design of SAP Product Safety processes to ensure safe handling of materials and products while supporting global regulatory compliance for manufacturing operations.
• Configure and optimize SAP Environment Management components to track emissions incidents and compliance metrics so that environmental performance is continuously monitored and improved.
• Translate complex Health and Safety requirements into SAP based solutions that help prevent incidents reduce risk and support a strong safety culture across industrial production sites.
• Collaborate with production planning and control teams to integrate SAP PLM with planning processes so that product data recipes and change information stay synchronized and reliable.
• Coordinate with cross functional stakeholders including operations quality and compliance teams to gather requirements and provide clear SAP based solutions that address key business challenges.
• Guide the creation and maintenance of product safety data including specifications hazard data and labels within SAP to ensure accurate and timely information is available for all products.
• Develop functional specifications and partner with technical teams to build test and deploy enhancements in SAP Product Safety SAP Environment Management and SAP PLM that improve usability and performance.
• Perform system testing integration testing and user acceptance testing for SAP EHS and PLM solutions to ensure stable releases and minimal disruption to day to day operations.
• Provide expert support for incident resolution and problem management in SAP Product Safety and Environment modules ensuring quick root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions.
• Create user documentation job aids and training content that enable business users to adopt SAP Product Safety SAP Environment Management and SAP PLM functionalities with confidence.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing process performance data and recommending SAP based enhancements that boost safety environmental stewardship and production efficiency.
• Ensure that all implemented solutions align with corporate sustainability goals and regulatory frameworks so that the organization demonstrates responsible and ethical operations.
• Coordinate with global teams in a hybrid work model using virtual collaboration tools to ensure consistent design standards configuration practices and documentation.

Qualifications

• Possess professional experience of eight to twelve years in SAP with a strong focus on SAP Product Safety SAP Environment Management and SAP PLM implementations or major enhancements.
• Demonstrate deep practical knowledge of Health and Safety processes including incident management risk assessment and compliance reporting within industrial manufacturing environments.
• Show proven experience in Production Planning and Control in industrial manufacturing with an understanding of how planning production execution and quality processes integrate with SAP.
• Exhibit strong capability in gathering business requirements documenting functional designs and translating them into robust SAP EHS and PLM configurations.
• Display familiarity with data migration concepts master data governance and data quality practices related to product safety environmental data and technical product information.
• Possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills enabling clear explanation of SAP capabilities and constraints to nontechnical partners and decision makers.
• Show experience working in hybrid work environments using remote collaboration tools while maintaining effective engagement with global and local teams.
• Prefer prior exposure to regulatory standards and guidelines related to chemical safety industrial hygiene environmental reporting and occupational safety within SAP landscapes.

Certifications Required

SAP Certified Application Associate in SAP EHS Management or equivalent certification in SAP Product Safety or Environment Management
