Job summary

Welcome to the Jungle is seeking a Senior SAP BW/BI Developer to design, build, and optimize enterprise data warehousing solutions on SAP BW. The role covers data extraction, ABAP development, performance tuning, and cross-platform data integration, with ownership from design to production support.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across the full SAP BW/BI stack, including DSOs, InfoCubes, BEx Queries, APDs, and Transport management, and excels at delivering scalable data solutions in

Qualifications

• 5+ years of SAP BW/BI development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Expert-level knowledge of SAP BW/BI architecture and development (BW on HANA a plus).
• Experience integrating data from ECC and modules into SAP BW (PM, FI/CO, SD, MM, C4C).
• Strong ABAP programming skills with enhancements, user exits, and custom extractors.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop SAP BW/BI solutions including data models, extraction logic, and reporting objects.
• Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines from SAP ECC modules into SAP BW.
• Develop, enhance, and debug custom extractors and ABAP enhancements.
• Design and build DSOs, InfoCubes, and BEx Queries to support analytics.
• Develop APDs to extract data from BW and deliver files to application servers.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize BW query and load performance in high-volume environments.
• Build and support connectivity between SAP BW and external platforms (Cloudera / GCP).
• Design, schedule, and monitor Process Chains for automated data loads and SLAs.
• Manage Transport Requests across landscapes following change control processes.
• Create technical documentation including design specs and data flow diagrams.
• Collaborate with functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Provide production support and root-cause analysis for data and performance issues.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior SAP BW/BI Developer to design, build, and optimize enterprise data warehousing solutions on SAP BW. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experienceacross the full SAP BW/BI stack - from data extraction and ABAP development to performance tuning and cross-platform data integration - and can independently own complex data solutions from design through production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop SAP BW/BI solutions, including data models, extraction logic,and reporting objects to support business analytics needs.
• Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines from SAP ECC and functional modules including PM, FI/CO, SD, MM, and C4C into SAP BW.
• Develop, enhance, and debug custom extractors, user exits, and enhancements using ABAP programming.
• Design and build DSOs (Data Store Objects), InfoCubes, and BEx Queries to support reporting and analytics requirements.
• Develop and maintain APDs (Analysis Process Designer) to extract data from BW and push output files to application servers for downstream consumption.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize BW query and load performance, particularly for large data volumes.
• Build and support connectivity between SAP BW and external data platforms, preferably Cloudera and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Design, schedule, and monitor Process Chains to automate data loads and ensuredata availability SLAs are met.
• Manage Transport Requests across development, quality, and production landscapes following change management best practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specs, data flowdiagrams, and process runbooks.
• Collaborate with functional consultants, business analysts, and downstream datateams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Provide production support, root-cause analysis, and long-term fixes for data and performance issues

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of overall SAP experience, with a strong focus on BW/BI development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Expert-level knowledge of SAP BW/BI architecture and development (BW on HANA experience a plus).
• Proven experience integrating data from ECC and modules such as PM, FI/CO, SD, MM, and C4C into SAP BW.
• Strong ABAP programming skills, including enhancements, user exits, and custom extractor development.
• Hands-on experience developing APDs for data extraction and file delivery to application servers.
• Expertise in building DSOs, InfoCubes, and BEx Queries.
• Demonstrated experience optimizing BW query and load performance in high-volume environments.
• Experience connecting SAP BW to external databases/platforms, preferably Cloudera or GCP.
• Solid understanding of Process Chain design, scheduling, and monitoring.
• Experience with Transport Request management and SAP change control processes.
• Strong documentation skills — able to produce clear technical specs and process documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently on complex, ambiguous data issues.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional business and technical teams.
