Job summary

Genpact Ltd. is hiring a senior SAP ECC Controlling consultant in India, focusing on product costing, CO-PA, and project controlling for discrete manufacturing. The role involves hands-on configuration, period-end processes, and troubleshooting across CO modules.

The position covers MTS, MTO, and ETO scenarios using production orders, sales orders, and WBS as cost objects with IFRS 15/ASC 606 alignment. You will mentor junior consultants and collaborate with FI/MM/SD/PP teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on SAP ECC 6.0 CO configuration and support, with at least 3 full-cycle implementations in discrete manufacturing.
• Proven configuration experience in product costing, cost object controlling, RA/revenue recognition for projects, and settlement.
• Solid understanding of cost accounting, inventory valuation, WIP and revenue recognition principles.
• Strong root-cause skills using CO reports and tables (COEP, COSP/COSS, COSB, CKMLHD/CKMLCR, ANLA, BSEG).
• Clear communicator, able to explain cost flows and postings to finance and operations stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Configure product costing for MTS/MTO/ETO.

• Design MTO/ETO flows with sales orders and WBS as cost objects.

• Lead requirement workshops, fit-gap analysis, and stakeholder management; mentor juniors.

JD:

We are looking for a senior SAP ECC Controlling consultant with deep, hands-on product costing and project controlling expertise in a discrete manufacturing environment. The role covers make-to-stock (MTS), make-to-order (MTO) and engineer-to-order (ETO) scenarios using production orders, sales orders and WBS elements as cost objects. The consultant will own configuration, period-end processes and troubleshooting across product costing, results analysis (RA) and revenue recognition, settlement, CO-PA and actual costing.

Key Responsibilities

Product Costing (MTS / MTO / ETO)

• Configure and support cost estimates: costing variants, valuation variants, costing sheets/overheads, cost component structures, standard cost release (CK11N/CK40N), sales-order and mixed costing.
• Run cost object controlling by period, by order and by sales order: WIP/RA, variance keys, target cost versions, variance categories (including scrap) and settlement profiles.
• Design MTO/ETO flows with sales orders and WBS as cost objects: requirement classes, account assignment categories, and valuated vs. non-valuated sales order/project stock.

Project Controlling, Results Analysis & Revenue Recognition

• Configure results analysis: RA keys and versions, valuation methods (revenue-based and cost-based POC, completed contract, quantity-based), line IDs, cost/revenue assignment and posting rules, aligned to IFRS 15 / ASC 606.
• Configure settlement of WBS elements and sales orders to P&L, CO-PA and assets under construction: settlement profiles, allocation, source and PA transfer structures.
• Troubleshoot project financials: WIP and RA postings, POC revenue, COGS, reserves for unrealized costs, billing/revenue mismatches, settlement errors and FICO reconciliation.

Overhead Management, Master Data & Period-End Close

• Maintain and govern CO master data: cost centers, cost elements, activity types, statistical key figures, internal orders, profit centers and hierarchies.
• Run and optimize CO period-end cycles: assessments, distributions, overhead calculation, actual activity price calculation, WIP/RA, variance calculation and order/project settlement.

Profitability Analysis & Actual Costing

• Support CO-PA (costing-based and account-based): characteristics, value fields, valuation, derivation and variance flow from production and projects.
• Support Material Ledger and actual costing (CKMLCP): multilevel price determination, inventory and COGS revaluation, and analysis with CKM3N.

Delivery & Stakeholder Management

• Lead requirement workshops, fit-gap analysis, functional specifications, testing (unit, integration, UAT), cut-over and hypercare.
• Work across FI, MM, SD, PP and PS teams; advise finance users and plant controllers; mentor junior consultants.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of hands-on SAP ECC 6.0 CO configuration and support, with at least 3 full-cycle implementations in discrete manufacturing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry background in industrial machinery, aerospace and defense, automotive or high-tech ETO.
• CA / CMA / CPA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent.
