Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced SAP S/4HANA CO–COPA Consultant with deep expertise in Profitability Analysis, both Account‑Based and Costing‑Based COPA (if applicable). The consultant should be able to lead design discussions, manage client interactions, guide the functional team, troubleshoot issues, and deliver end‑to‑end COPA solutions aligned with business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end COPA solution design and delivery in SAP S/4HANA.
• Configure and manage: Value Fields & Characteristics, Profit Centers & Segments, Real‑time FI–CO integration, Derivation Rules, Assessment & Allocation Cycles, and Reporting Structures (Fiori Apps, CDS Views, KPI Models).
• Conduct requirement gathering workshops and fit‑gap analysis.
• Map business requirements to standard S/4HANA COPA functionalities.
• Design and configure complete profitability flows: Sales → Billing → FI → COPA; Cost Center Assessments & Distributions; Internal Order, Production Order & WBS Settlements; COGS Split Processes; Material Ledger Integration.
• Collaborate with SD, MM, FI, PP, PS, and Group Reporting teams.
• Design and support integration scenarios involving: Pricing to COPA Characteristics; Material Ledger Actual Costing; Third‑Party Interface Integration; Consolidation and Financial Reporting Alignment.
• Prepare detailed Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) and define business logic, derivation rules, mapping tables, and validation requirements.
• Develop test scenarios and support SIT, UAT, and performance testing; support Cutover, Go‑Live, and Hypercare activities.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to COPA postings, derivations, assessments, allocations, and profitability reporting; utilize SAP tools such as KE24, KE30, ACDOCA analysis, ST05 traces, and SLG1 logs.
• Lead client discussions, provide solution recommendations, facilitate design approvals, and communicate with senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.
• Lead and mentor the CO/COPA functional team; ensure solution consistency and alignment with project architecture, governance, and standards.

Core Experience

• 12–15 years of SAP CO experience with strong specialization in CO‑PA (Profitability Analysis).
• Minimum 2–3 end‑to‑end SAP S/4HANA implementation projects in CO‑PA.
• Extensive experience in designing and implementing Account‑Based CO‑PA solutions.

Technical & Functional Expertise

• Strong understanding of Account‑Based CO‑PA within Universal Journal (ACDOCA).
• Expertise in:
  • Characteristics and Value Fields
  • Derivation Strategies and Logic
  • Profitability Segment Creation and Data Flow
  • Cost Center Allocations, Assessments, and Distributions
  • Profit Center and Segment Reporting
• Deep knowledge of integration between SD Billing and CO‑PA; MM Procurement and CO‑PA; FI Postings and CO‑PA.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot CO‑PA postings using ACDOCA, KE24, KE30, and Universal Journal Reporting Tools.

Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution

• Strong functional debugging capabilities.
• Expertise in analyzing and resolving CO‑PA posting issues, derivation errors, allocation and assessment issues, and reporting and reconciliation issues.
• Collaborate with technical teams for enhancements and integrations.

Client & Leadership Skills

• Excellent communication and presentation skills; strong stakeholder and client management capabilities.
• Ability to independently lead workshops, solution discussions, and design reviews.
• Proven experience in leading functional teams and mentoring junior consultants.

Good‑to‑Have Skills

• Advanced SAP Knowledge
