Job summary

Apolis Consulting is seeking a senior SAP BW Developer in Bengaluru to lead end-to-end BW4HANA implementations, including native HANA and SAP Analytics Cloud. The role emphasizes requirements gathering, data modeling, ETL development, and reporting architecture.

You will collaborate with business teams and architectural groups to deliver high-quality data solutions, drive performance improvements, and coordinate UAT across multiple functions. Occasional travel for onboarding is expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in SAP BW development (excluding time spent on Production Support/Monitoring).
• Proficient in ABAP (data source enhancements, routines, variable exits, debugging).
• Expertise in SQL and AMDP.
• Familiarity with CDS views.
• Interest in learning SAP Data Intelligence and Snowflake.
• Proven ability to engage with business stakeholders at all levels, translate requirements into solutions.
• Has independently produced at least 10 detailed design documents of medium to high complexity.
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.
• Willingness to travel to the European HQ for onboarding during the first year.

Responsibilities

• Master BW4HANA and related technologies including Native HANA, SAP Data Intelligence, SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Analysis for Microsoft.
• Gather requirements and define KPIs with business teams.
• Convert statements into high-level data models and architectures.
• Design data models across extraction, harmonization, and reporting layers.
• Conduct presentations and reviews with architectural teams.
• Identify data sources, ADSOs, composite providers, and ETL processes.
• Develop Bex queries, incorporating key figures, structures, and configurations.
• Assess design impacts on performance.
• Implement development objects in BW4HANA and HANA Studio.
• Execute unit testing and manage code transportation.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing with business functions.
• Create reporting and analytics solutions using Bex, SAP Analysis for Microsoft and SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Design models and data marts for performance and insights.

Responsibilities

The Sr SAP BW Developer masters all aspects within BW4HANA, and additionally has experience with Native HANA, SAP Data Intelligence, SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Analysis for Microsoft.

Requirements Gathering

• Gain understanding of Clients systems and business operations.
• Assist in crafting Business Scope Statements.
• Collaboratively define KPIs and use cases with the business teams.

High Level Architecture

• Convert Business Scope Statements into high-level data models.
• Design models for transactional and master data across various layers - extraction, harmonization, and reporting.
• Conduct presentations and reviews with architectural teams.

Detailed Design Documentation

• Identify data sources, ADSOs, composite providers, and ETL processes.
• Develop Bex queries, incorporating key figures, structures, and configurations.
• Assess design impacts on performance.

ETL Development in BW4HANA and HANA Studio

• Implement development objects.
• Execute unit testing.
• Manage code transportation.

Reporting and Analytics Solutions Development

• Utilize Bex, SAP Analysis for Microsoft, and SAP Analytics Cloud to create reporting and analytics solutions.

Experience Requirements
