Job Description for Technical Services Manager (TSM) role

We are looking for an experienced Technical Services Manager (TSM) to serve as a trusted technical advisor for SAP Enterprise Cloud Services customers. The TSM will drive cloud transformation initiatives, SAP upgrade programs, migration projects, and operational excellence across complex SAP landscapes.

This role requires strong expertise in SAP Basis, SAP HANA, SAP S/4HANA, cloud technologies, upgrades, migrations, and ECS operations. The ideal candidate will collaborate with customers, SAP engineering teams, cloud providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project execution while maximizing business value and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Service Management

• Act as the primary technical advisor and trusted partner for assigned SAP ECS customers.
• Deliver proactive technical service management to improve customer outcomes and satisfaction.
• Manage day-to-day SAP ECS service delivery and operational governance.
• Lead service review meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with SLAs, operational standards, and SAP best practices.
• Provide executive-level reporting, stakeholder management, and technical governance.

SAP Upgrade & Transformation Projects

• Lead end-to-end SAP upgrade projects across SAP ECS customer landscapes.
• Manage SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA, SAP NetWeaver, Kernel, and Operating System upgrade activities.
• Conduct technical assessments, upgrade planning, risk management, and execution.
• Coordinate testing, cutover planning, go-live support, and post-upgrade stabilization.
• Drive infrastructure modernization and platform upgrade initiatives.

Cloud Migration & RISE with SAP

• Lead cloud transformation and migration projects into SAP ECS and RISE with SAP environments.
• Manage migration initiatives from on-premise landscapes to hyperscaler platforms including:
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Support SAP S/4HANA transformations and SAP HANA migrations.
• Conduct landscape assessments and recommend cloud transformation strategies.
• Drive cloud onboarding and adoption programs.

Operations & Incident Management

• Monitor system health, availability, performance, and capacity management.
• Manage critical incidents, major escalations, and root cause analysis activities.
• Coordinate change management, release management, and maintenance planning.
• Ensure successful execution of system copies, refreshes, and landscape optimization activities.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency and service quality.

High Availability & Compliance

• Support High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and Business Continuity requirements.
• Ensure security, compliance, audit readiness, and governance across SAP cloud environments.
• Design and recommend resilient architectures that maximize system performance and availability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with SAP Engineering, Operations, Architecture, Cloud Infrastructure, and Customer teams.
• Partner with customers to understand business transformation goals and challenges.
• Recommend SAP Enterprise Cloud Services offerings and technical solutions aligned with business objectives.
