Tata Consultancy Services Limited in Trivandrum invites experienced SAP Basis professionals for a Walk-in Drive scheduled on 31st October 2026. This role focuses on BASIS administration, SAP HANA databases, transport and security management within SAP landscapes.

• BE/B.Tech/MCA/MSc./MS with minimum 5 years IT-experience post

Responsibilities

• System Administration & Monitoring: install, configure, and maintain SAP systems.
• Database & Storage Management: manage SAP HANA, backup, recovery, data archiving.
• Transport Management System (TMS): move changes safely across environments.
• Security & Authorization Management: user and role management (PFCG).
• Patch & Upgrade Management: apply updates, kernels, and support packages.
• Troubleshooting & Performance Tuning: analyze dumps, monitor background jobs.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)

Must-Have

Technical Competency

BASIS – Application & DB sizing, third party middle ware, profile parameters, system transport route management, Logon load balancing, support pack level and upgrades, alert configuration, server scalability and reliability process

System Administration & Monitoring

Need to know how to install, configure, and maintain SAP systems.

This includes:

• Work Process Management: Checking system health and stopping frozen tasks.
• Profile Parameters: Adjusting system memory and CPU settings.
• Spool Administration: Setting up printers and managing print queues.

Database and Storage Management

SAP systems hold massive amounts of data. You must be able to manage this data so the system runs fast. Key skills include:

• Database Administration: Managing and tuning databases like SAP HANA.
• Backup and Recovery: Creating plans to save data and restore it if there is a disaster.
• Data Archiving: Moving old data to free up system memory.

Transport Management System (TMS)

In SAP, developers build changes in a "Development" system. You must safely move these changes to "Quality Assurance" and "Production" systems without breaking anything.

Security and Authorization Management

You must protect the system from hackers and give employees the right access. This involves:

• User Management: Creating and deleting user accounts.
• Role Management: Setting up permissions (using PFCG) so people can only see the data they need to do their jobs.

Patch and Upgrade Management

SAP regularly releases updates. You must know how to apply these updates to keep systems safe and up to date.

This includes updating:

• Kernels: The core programs of the SAP system.
• Support Packages: Software fixes from SAP.

Troubleshooting and Performance Tuning

When the system slows down or throws an error, you must find and fix the problem quickly.

• Dump Analysis: Reading error logs to find bugs.
• Background Jobs: Monitoring automated tasks so they do not slow down the system.

Good-to-Have

• Cloud Platforms: Working with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• High Availability: Setting up backup systems so the SAP software never shuts down, even if a server fails.
