Qualifications

3-8 years of overall SAP/Ariba experience.
2-6 years specifically in SAP Ariba technical integrations.
Experience in at least one end-to-end SAP Ariba implementation.
BE/B.Tech/MBA/MCA/M.Tech/CA/ICWA or equivalent education.

Responsibilities

Design Ariba integration architecture for modules (Sourcing, Contracts, Buying & Invoicing).
Develop and manage integrations between Ariba and SAP ECC/S4HANA (CIG, SAP PI/PO, CPI).
Manage data migration and master data quality for Ariba solutions.
Configure Ariba components: approvals, forms, UI extensions, and onboarding.
Coordinate testing (Unit, SIT, UAT) and deployment activities.
Provide L2/L3 production support for Ariba integrations.

Job Description & Summary :

The SAP Ariba Consultant is responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and supporting SAP Ariba solutions within an enterprise landscape. This role demands strong technical expertise in Ariba integrations, SAP ERP connectivity, workflow customization, and end-to-end procurement process understanding. The consultant will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless solution delivery aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities

Solution Design & Technical Architecture Design and document Ariba integration architecture for modules such as Sourcing, Contracts, Buying & Invoicing (P2P), Supplier Lifecycle, Supplier Risk , etc. Translate functional requirements into technical specifications for integrations, customizations, and enhancements. Ensure technical designs follow SAP best practices, security models, and compliance standards.
Integration Development & Configuration Develop and manage integrations between Ariba and SAP ECC/S4HANA using: Ariba CIG (Cloud Integration Gateway) SAP PI/PO, CPI Web Services, APIs, IDOCs, BAPIs Set up and configure Ariba integration workflows, mappings, and connectivity (e.g., cXML, EDI, AN). Troubleshoot and resolve integration errors (transmission failures, mapping issues, master data gaps).
Data Management & Migration Support master data integration including Suppliers, Materials, Cost Centers, GL, Hierarchies. Execute data migration strategies for Ariba solutions using CSV loads or API-based loads. Ensure data quality, consistency, and validation across SAP–Ariba systems.
System Configuration & Customization Configure technical components such as: Approval flows Custom rules using Ariba Rule Builder Custom forms, fields, and UI extensions Integration event triggers Manage Ariba network configurations, supplier onboarding, and commerce automation setup.
Testing & Deployment Prepare and execute Unit Testing, SIT, UAT , and regression testing for technical components. Support cutover planning, migration steps, and deployment activities. Document test cases, results, and technical defects.
Production Support & Continuous Improvement Provide ongoing L2/L3 support for Ariba integrations and technical issues. Analyze recurring issues and recommend automation or optimization. Monitor system interfaces and troubleshoot failures in real time.

Core Ariba Skills: Strong expertise in SAP Ariba modules (Sourcing, P2P, Contracts, SLP, etc.)

SAP & Integration Skills

SAP ECC/S4HANA procurement & MM module knowledge. Experience with: SAP CPI or PI/PO cXML / EDI standards BAPI, RFC, IDOC structures JSON, XML, SOAP, REST Services Understanding of procurement workflows and end-to-end P2P processes.

Technical Tools

SQL, debugging tools, tracing logs Middleware monitoring (CPI, PI/PO) SAP Debugger & Integration Monitoring (AIF preferable)
