ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions is rolling out SAP S/4 HANA across the Division which will enable and support its business expansion strategy in line with the new operating business model.

Primary Job Purpose

We are looking for a highly experienced and strategic SAP S/4HANA ABAP senior Developer to do the design, development, and optimization of custom SAP applications. This role involves overseeing technical teams, ensuring best practices in ABAP development, and driving successful implementations and migrations within SAP S/4HANA environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Development and Maintenance: Develop and maintain high-quality applications on the SAP S/4HANA platform using ABAP.
• Technical Specifications: Translate business requirements into technical specifications, code, test, and debug programs.
• Performance Tuning: Optimize ABAP programs and systems for optimal performance.
• Troubleshooting: Analyse and resolve production and development issues.
• Code Review: Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
• Integration: Experience with SAP middleware solutions like PI/PO, CPI, or other integration technologies.
• Testing: Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and user acceptance tests.
• Mentoring: Mentor junior developers and share knowledge.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members.
• Business Knowledge: Possess a solid understanding of core SAP modules (e.g., SD, MM, FI/CO) and their integration.

Technical Skills

• ABAP Programming: Strong experience with ABAP, including OOABAP, new syntax, Enhancement Framework, Forms, BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs and ODATA services.
• S/4HANA: Hands-on experience with S/4HANA specific technologies like CDS views, AMDP, and Fiori/UI5.
• HANA: Experience with SAP HANA database and its interaction with ABAP.
• Cloud: Knowledge of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), including BTP services and tools.
• Integration: Integrate S/4HANA with other systems using technologies like ODATA, IDocs, RFCs, and web services.
• Tools: Proficient in SAP Web IDE, Eclipse IDE, and other relevant development tools.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

• Bachelor / master’s degree in business, Computer Science, or equivalent discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in SAP ABAP development, with at least 1 year in a lead role.
• Minimum 2 Implementation project(S/4 HANA - 1, ECC - 1) and one support project experience.
• Proven experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
• Proficiency in ABAP programming and development tools.
• Strong understanding of SAP BTP services, including SAP S/4 HANA, SAP Cloud Platform, and SAP Fiori.
• Experience with integration technologies such as OData, REST, and SOAP.
• Should possess hands-on experience with SAP technical upgrades, including SPAU and SPAD activities.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable:

• SAP S/4 HANA certification in ABAP or SAP BTP.
