Job summary

HCLTech is seeking an experienced ABAP developer with 3+ years hands-on SAP experience to lead end-to-end RICEF projects. You will work on OOABAP, SAP HANA, AMDP, CDS views, and RAP-based APIs, while delivering OData services and Fiori/UI5 integrations.

The role requires strong debugging, problem-solving, and collaboration with technical and functional teams to ensure sustainable solutions with clean core approaches and smooth upgrades.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on ABAP development experience with a focus on RICEF objects.
• Strong OOABAP programming for modern SAP development.
• Experience with Clean Core Approach and SAP standard solutions with minimal customizations.
• SAP HANA expertise with AMDP procedures and CDS Views.
• Proficient in RAP and ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model.
• Experience with CDS Views, OData services, and SAP UI5/Fiori integration.
• Hands-on experience with RAP-based APIs and RAP reports.
• Good understanding of SAP HR module is preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; able to debug and troubleshoot.
• Experience with SAP NetWeaver Gateway for OData services.
• Strong collaboration with technical and functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop ABAP solutions with emphasis on RICEF components.
• Implement RAP-based APIs and ensure proper authorization checks and validations.
• Work with HANA, CDS views, and AMDP procedures for complex requirements.
• Create and expose OData services; integrate SAP back-end with Fiori/UI5 UIs.
• Develop Fiori-based custom reports and ensure upgrade-friendly customizations.
• Collaborate with functional teams to deliver end-to-end SAP solutions.

Role & responsibilities

• "3+ years of hands-on experience in ABAP development with a strong focus on RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, and Forms).
• In-depth knowledge of Object-oriented ABAP (OOABAP) programming for modern SAP development.
• Proven experience with the Clean Core Approach and implementing SAP standard solutions with minimal customizations, ensuring long-term sustainability and ease of upgrades.
• SAP HANA expertise, including experience in developing AMDP procedures and CDS Views for complex requirements.
• Proficient in developing applications using the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
• Strong experience with Core Data Services (CDS) Views and OData services for integration and data modelling.
• Experience working with SAP Fiori and SAP UI5, including the development of OData services to integrate backend with frontend UI applications.
• EML (Entity Manipulation Language) for advanced transactional scenarios in both standard and custom APIs.
• RAP‑based APIs (managed and unmanaged scenarios) with actions, authorization checks, and field validation in RAP APIs & CDS.
• Fiori‑based custom reports and message implementation in RAP.
• Deep understanding of SAP HR module is preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP NetWeaver Gateway for managing OData services.
