Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking an SAP ABAP developer with 1–4 years of ABAP experience to design, code, and modify SAP applications. You will work with SAP ABAP/4, SAPScript, iDocs, BAPI, and RFC, while ensuring code quality and documentation.

The role reports to the IT Team Lead and involves hybrid work arrangements in Pune, India. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, hands-on ABAP experience, and familiarity with Vistex and SAP interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is required.
• 1–4 years of ABAP programming experience is required.
• Experience in RICEF developments is preferred.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain SAP design and technical specifications and run tests.
• Support end-user testing and participate in production operations and releases.
• Assist with upgrades, new releases and monitor performance of technical objects.
• Develop and fix interfaces such as BAPIs, RFCs, IDOCs and LSMW.
• ABAP/4 programming using SAPScript, iDocs, BAPI, RFC; document code thoroughly.

The RA SAP ABAP functional developer is responsible for designing, coding, and modifying SAP applications to meet the Global Revenue Management and Rockwell Automation specific requirements, in adherence to the RA IT Methodologies. They work closely with the GRM team and other RA SAP functional personnel to implement and deploy changes to SAP and other integrated or interfaced systems, such as Vistex and PROS.

In addition, they are expected to manage the construction of code based on a technical design, following RA IT development standards, while work with project teams and technical resources, ensure all code is well documented and can be navigated by others in the next phase (testing) within the RA IT Agile frame.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain SAP design and technical specification documents, and conduct unit, integration and release testing to validate functionality
• Support end-users Acceptance Testing activities, and participate in Production Operations and Release Management support;
• Assist with upgrades, new releases and monitor performance of the technical objects;
• BAPIs, BADIs, RFCs, IDOCs, LSMW, writing user exits, BDC coding, and interfaces;
• SAP ABAP/4 programming using: SAPScript, iDocs, BAPI, RFC; -
• Develop and maintain SAP design and technical specification documents; assist in defining and documenting SAP Best Practices in an Agile Framework
• Code change and code review;
• Analyze and fix the issues related to Gateway OData; - Preferred, not required
• Develop enhancements;
• Analyze and Fix IDOC, Web Service, RFC Issues;
• Writing technical specifications.
• 3 - 5 years of SAP ABAP development in an enterprise environment is ideal
• Proactive mindset;
• The ability to work alone
• SAP UI5 and Fiori-L3 preferred
• SAP ABAP-L3 (Mandatory).

This role will report to the Team Lead - IT.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field.
• 1 - 4 years of experience in ABAP Programming is required
• Experienced in RICEF developments
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

• Programming experience in SD & Vistex modules
• Experience in SAP Enhancement Framework
• Experience in ABAP Object Oriented Programming
• Knowledge in web services (SOAP/REST/HTTP POST)
• Knowledge in web developments (PHP, HTML, XSLT, XML, JSON)
