Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking an ABAP developer to design, code and modify SAP applications, aligning with GRM and Rockwell IT standards. You will collaborate with GRM and SAP functional teams to deploy changes to SAP and interfaces like Vistex and PROS.

The role requires 3–5 years of SAP ABAP experience, strong problem solving, and the ability to work independently in a hybrid environment. SAP UI5/Fiori skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 1–4 years ABAP programming experience.
• Experience with RICEF developments and SAP ABAP in an enterprise context.
• Knowledge of SAP Script, iDocs, BAPI/RFC, and SAP UI5/Fiori is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain SAP design and technical specifications and perform testing.
• Support user acceptance testing and participate in production operations.
• Assist with upgrades, releases, and monitor performance of technical objects.
• Handle BAPI, BADI, RFCs, IDOCs, LSMW, and interfaces; code reviews.
• Develop enhancements and fix IDOC, Web Service, RFC issues.
• Document code changes and align with RA IT Agile practices.

Job Description

The RASAP ABAP functional developer is responsible for designing, coding, and modifying SAP applications to meet the Global Revenue Management and Rockwell Automation specific requirements, in adherence to the RA IT Methodologies. They work closely with the GRM team and other RA SAP functional personnel to implement and deploy changes to SAP and other integrated or interfaced systems, such as Vistex and PROS.

In addition, they are expected to manage the construction of code based on a technical design, following RA IT development standards, while work with project teams and technical resources, ensure all code is well documented and can be navigated by others in the next phase (testing) within the RA IT Agile frame.

This role will report to the Team Lead - IT.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain SAP design and technical specification documents, and conduct unit, integration and release testing to validate functionality
• Support end-users Acceptance Testing activities, and participate in Production Operations and Release Management support;
• Assist with upgrades, new releases and monitor performance of the technical objects;
• BAPIs, BADIs, RFCs, IDOCs, LSMW, writing user exits, BDC coding, and interfaces;
• SAP ABAP/4 programming using: SAPScript, iDocs, BAPI, RFC; -
• Develop and maintain SAP design and technical specification documents; assist in defining and documenting SAP Best Practices in an Agile Framework
• Code change and code review;
• Analyze and fix the issues related to Gateway OData; - Preferred, not required
• Develop enhancements;
• Analyze and Fix IDOC, Web Service, RFC Issues;
• Writing technical specifications.
• 3 – 5 years of SAP ABAP development in an enterprise environment is ideal
• Proactive mindset;
• The ability to work alone
• SAP UI5 and Fiori-L3 preferred
• SAP ABAP-L3 (Mandatory).

The Essentials - You Will Have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Relevant Field.
• 1 – 4 years of experience in ABAP Programming is required
• Experienced in RICEF developments
• Strong analytical problem‑solving skills
• Good communication skills

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

• Programming experience in SD & Vistex modules
• Experience in SAP Enhancement Framework
• Experience in ABAP Object Oriented Programming
• Knowledge in web services (SOAP/REST/HTTP POST)
• Knowledge in web developments (PHP, HTML, XSLT, XML, JSON)
