Job summary

Synectics APAC in Chennai is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP professional to design, develop, and optimize ABAP-based applications for S/4HANA deployments. You will work across CDS views, AMDP, and HANA SQL, with BTP, UI5, and API integration.

Bring 8+ years of software development experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in cross-functional Agile teams. This on-site role offers exposure to modern SAP technologies and secure coding practices.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in SAP ABAP and ABAP development
• Hands-on experience with ABAP CDS Views and S/4HANA implementations
• Experience with SAP BTP and modern SAP development frameworks
• Knowledge of ABAP Objects and modern ABAP syntax; AMDP & HANA SQL
• Experience with SAP integrations using BAPI, BADI, IDOC, RFC, APIs, and Web Services
• Familiarity with SAP Fiori/SAPUI5 and OData services

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain SAP applications using ABAP and modern ABAP development practices.
• Develop and optimize ABAP CDS Views, AMDP, and HANA SQL-based solutions.
• Work on SAP S/4HANA implementation and development projects.
• Develop solutions using SAP BTP and modern SAP development frameworks.
• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and integration components.
• Develop and enhance SAP Fiori/SAPUI5 applications, OData services, and Fiori Elements.
• Work with the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
• Design and implement integrations using BAPI, BADI, IDOC, RFC, User Exits, Web Services, and APIs.
• Perform code reviews, debugging, performance tuning, and application optimization.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Functional Consultants, and other technical teams.
• Follow best practices related to Agile, CI/CD, automated testing, and secure coding.
• Ensure proper SAP authorization checks and security practices in ABAP developments.
• Evaluate and adopt new SAP technologies to improve performance and development efficiency.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of API Management platforms such as Apigee.
