Our team brings experience from over 740 previous companies, from startups to global giants

We have just been named as one of FinTech's Finest 50 by Welcome to the Jungle

We're proud to be an accredited Real Living Wage employer, ensuring everyone is paid fairly for the great work they do!

Our Product & Engineering Team:

Liberis is building the embedded finance platform that lets partners around the world offer innovative funding products to their small business customers. We're a growth-stage fintech with teams in London, Nottingham, Atlanta, Stockholm, Munich and Mumbai, and we're building a global Product, Data & Engineering team that thrives on autonomy, ownership, and is focused on impact! Our teams solve real-world problems for small businesses, shaping products that unlock opportunity at scale.

Our Salesforce team:

You’ll join Liberis' Salesforce Engineering practice, which owns and evolves the Salesforce platform behind how Liberis acquires, onboards, and supports merchants and partners across 15 markets.

You’ll build and run your own pod of up to four people, drawn from developers and admins. This role sits within the wider Technology function and work closely with product teams and business functions such as commercial and operations to turn business needs into reliable Salesforce solutions.

The role:

The Salesforce Engineering Lead is a people leader role that stays hands-on. You’ll own the technical direction of your team's part of the Salesforce org and the growth of the people in it. This isn't a step away from engineering into pure management. Liberis expects both.

Roughly 60-70% of your time goes to technical and delivery leadership, 20-30% to people management (1:1s, performance, career development, hiring), and the rest to cross-team and strategic work. The exact split depends on where your team is and what it needs at the time.

What you'll be doing:
Technical leadership

Own the technical direction and quality of your team's part of the Salesforce org: object model, security and sharing, automation, and integrations.

Make or guide architecture decisions with clear reasoning about the trade-offs.

Stay close enough to the code to review it credibly, help with the hard problems, and lead incident response when something breaks.

Hold the line on engineering practice: CI/CD, Salesforce DX, testing, code review, and release management.

People management

Set goals, give feedback, and support career development for developers and admins at different levels.

Build a team environment where people can grow and where feedback runs both ways.

Delivery and stakeholder partnership

Work directly with sales, operations, and other customer-facing teams to understand how they work and where Salesforce can do more for them.

Partner with other engineering teams to coordinate integrations and provide best-practice guidance on using Salesforce APIs.

Act as a strategic advisor, not just an order-taker: help teams rethink a process, not just build what they first asked for.

Contribute to the Salesforce roadmap and make sure changes are scalable and lined up with the wider business.

Own platform health: security, data quality, and governance.

Drive adoption of automation, including AI-driven automation, that cuts cost to serve without cutting quality.

Represent your team's technical view in cross-team and leadership discussions.

What we think you'll need:
Essential
  • Proven success in a Salesforce development role, including time spent owning architecture decisions rather than just implementing them.
  • Deep command of Apex, Lightning Web Components, and SOQL/SOSL, plus confident declarative configuration: Flow, object modelling, validation rules, security and sharing.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with external systems through REST/SOAP APIs and platform events.
  • Some experience leading, mentoring, or managing other developers or admins, even informally, and a genuine interest in doing more of it.
  • A track record of improving sales or operations processes, not just maintaining what's already there.
  • Comfortable working directly with sales, operations, and oth
