Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Sales Support Engineer to assist the sales team in delivering high-quality proposals and quotations for automation systems (DCS, PLCs, analyzers). Under mentorship, you will learn to prepare accurate quotations for investment projects, upgrades, and rebuilds across the Asia Pacific region.

You will collaborate with internal experts to gather customer requirements, input technical and commercial details, and assemble structured offers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical or Instrumentation technology.
• 2–5 years of experience in automation with DCS/PLC, preferably in pulp and paper.
• Strong English communication, presentation and facilitation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in promoting automation solutions within the assigned territory under senior supervision.

In this position, you will support the sales team in delivering high-quality proposals and quotations for automation systems (DCS, QCS, Analyzers/Measurements) Under the mentorship of experienced Solution Managers and Sales teams, you will learn how to prepare accurate and timely quotations for investment projects, upgrades, and rebuilds for Asia Pacific region

Your role involves working closely with internal experts to understand customer requirements, gather technical and commercial inputs, and assist in compiling structured offers. This position provides a strong foundation in sales support processes and offers valuable exposure to customer interactions, automation technologies, and business development strategies.

A proactive mindset, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn are key to succeeding in this role. You will also gain insight into how Valmet partners with customers to deliver the right automation solutions at the right time.

Responsibilities

• Assist in promoting Valmet’s automation solutions within the assigned territory and customer base under the guidance of senior sales professionals.
• Stay engaged with the assigned region to learn and understand market dynamics and growth potential.
• Help prepare technical proposals and customer solutions in collaboration with global, area, and country teams.
• Maintain records and provide regular updates on proposal activities, customer interactions, and sales support tasks.
• Interacting with Vendors and the Purchase team to get optimized costs for bought-outs
• Contribute to ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction by providing accurate quotations
• Uphold Valmet’s core commitments to customers by learning and applying best practices in customer engagement and support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical or Instrumentation technology.
• 2-5 years of experience in any Automation sector with DCS/PLC systems – preferably Pulp and Paper sector.
• Good communication skills in English, as well as presentation and facilitation skills
