Job description

The Energy business line of Vaisala is working to speed the adoption of wind and solar power around the world through better and more cost-effective measurement technologies and information services.

We are now looking for a Sales Manager for the Renewable Energy Business. In this position, the focus region is India, and you would be working from our New Delhi, India location.

Your main responsibility is to be part of the team tasked with developing and growing the sales of Vaisala's Renewable Energy business in your region. This role includes prospecting, investigation, consultative selling, and assisting our development teams in creating a better offering for our customers. This role requires a highly motivated, self-driven person who is willing to work in fast-changing conditions.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  1. Selling Vaisala's suite of Weather Resource Data Tools, Consulting Services, and Measurement Equipment to the Renewable Energy market, including OEMs, IPPs, and Financial Institutions.
  2. Managing assigned Key Accounts in your territory.
  3. Creating and implementing the sales strategy to win new customers.
  4. Achieving sales budget and gross margin targets.

To be successful in this role, we are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of the Renewable Energy (wind and solar) market, specifically in Resource Assessment, Resource Measurement, and Renewable Energy production forecasting.
  • 8 years of consultative selling experience with a minimum of 5 years of successful sales track record in the Renewable Energy sector.
  • Knowledge of contract practices for consulting services and capital equipment sales.
  • Good networking and influencing skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Fluent in English.
