Job summary

Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Safety Officer with 2–4+ years of experience in the construction industry, preferably handling electrical safety at commercial, industrial, data centre or IT building projects.

The candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring site safety procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable safety standards, conducting regular safety inspections, and promoting a strong safety culture across project sites.

The candidate must have sound knowledge of Electrical Safety, construction site safety practices and statutory safety requirements, and should be willing to work at project sites.

Key Responsibilities

1. Implement and monitor project-specific Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
2. Ensure strict compliance with electrical safety standards and safe working practices at site.
3. Monitor electrical installation activities, including cable laying, cable termination, panel installation, earthing, testing and commissioning.
4. Ensure implementation of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Permit to Work (PTW), Work at Height and other safety procedures.
5. Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify potential hazards and unsafe working conditions.
6. Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by workers, technicians and subcontractors.
7. Conduct daily toolbox talks, safety inductions and awareness training for site personnel.
8. Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure adherence to project safety requirements.
9. Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
10. Ensure proper implementation of fire prevention measures, emergency response procedures and evacuation plans.
11. Maintain safety documentation, inspection reports, incident registers, training records and statutory compliance records.
12. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, supervisors and contractors to ensure safe execution of project activities.
13. Monitor housekeeping, material handling, scaffolding, lifting operations and other construction-related safety activities.

Educational Qualification

• B. Tech / Diploma in Engineering.
• ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety - MSBTE).
• Diploma / Certification in Industrial Safety or Fire & Safety.

Experience & Technical Requirements

• 2–4+ years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
• Hands-on experience in Industrial, Commercial, Data Centre or IT Building projects.
• Good understanding of Electrical Safety procedures and construction site safety practices.
• Knowledge of PTW, LOTO, PPE, Work at Height, Electrical Isolation and Fire Safety.
• Experience in conducting safety audits, inspections, toolbox talks and risk assessments.
• Good communication, coordination and reporting skills.
• Should be comfortable working at project sites and coordinating with multiple teams.
