Job summary

Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a senior hardware engineer to lead SoC design and verification efforts. You will guide architecture, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure successful IP core delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
  • PhD in CS/EE with 6+ years in Hardware Engineering (if applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and support to ensure architecture and design tasks are completed on time.
  • Leads complex implementation strategy development that meets system requirements and customer needs.
  • Acts as the technical expert in resolving highly complex architecture, design, or verification problems with incomplete requirements.
  • Provide expertise for design and verification strategies of the IP core team to meet customer/program needs.
  • Direct team to add additional test cases and ensure power checks are completed on time.
  • Reviews reports from performance checks to identify obstacles and mitigation plans.
  • Serve as a tech lead in cross-functional groups to align on feasible product execution paths.
  • Drives technical conversations in design/project reviews to ensure cross-functional alignment.
  • Learns and applies lessons from past projects and seeks improvements in engineering procedures.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 15+ years of SoC design, verification, synthesis / implementation related work experience.
  • Thorough understanding of digital design concepts.
  • Knowledge of state‑of‑the‑art SoC design flows.
  • Experience in delivering RTL2GDSII.
  • Good understanding of ARM‑based SoC architectures would be a plus.
  • Understanding of bus protocols such as AHB, AXI, ACE, ACE‑Lite.
  • 5+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Holds team accountable and provides technical expertise and support to team members to ensure architecture and design tasks are completed on time.
  • Leads complex implementation strategy development that meets system requirements and customer needs.
  • Acts as the technical expert in resolving highly complex architecture, design, or verification problems when provided with incomplete, ambiguous, or conflicting requirements.
  • Provides expertise for design and verification strategies of the IP core team members to meet customer and program needs.
  • Directs team to add additional test cases when necessary to understand and analyze complex bugs.
  • Ensures power checks are completed on time.
  • Reviews reports derived from performance checks for various blocks to identify obstacles and provide mitigation plans.
  • Acts as a tech lead on innovative technologies to drive advances and influence standards.
  • Reviews technical documentation for large projects before publication and provides feedback.
  • Serves as a technical lead by participating in cross‑functional groups to ensure a feasible product execution path and communicates this path to the team.
  • Drives technical conversation in design or project reviews and project meetings, ensuring cross‑functional alignment.
  • Acts as a tech lead on major projects to ensure timely and on‑budget completion.
  • Learns and applies lessons from past projects and recommends improved engineering procedures.
  • Identifies technical opportunities or projects inside Qualcomm and secures resources as necessary.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Provides technical expertise and support to define and make available foundry technology roadmap choices to meet product requirements.
  • Leads team to define and develop competitive and timely foundry technology to fit product roadmap.
  • Leads resolution of critical technology and design‑technology interaction issues to execute on timely product ramp.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 7+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
  • PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
