Job summary

Planys Technologies in Chennai is seeking a hands-on Senior Technician to support maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and assembly of advanced underwater robotic systems such as ROVs and UUVs. The role combines office duties with field work across ports, offshore locations, and customer sites.

Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, PCB soldering, and assembly of robotic systems.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE/B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
• 1-4 years of experience in electrical/electronics maintenance, field service, industrial equipment, robotics, or similar roles.
• Freshers with strong practical skills and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and mechanical issues.
• Test, repair, and solder PCBs and electronic components.

• Use testing instruments, hand tools, and power tools for maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain service reports, maintenance records, and technical documentation.
• Support inventory management, spare parts handling, and mobilization for field operations.
• Follow safety procedures during office and field activities.
• Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to support operations.

About the Role

• Test, repair, and solder PCBs and electronic components.
• Carry out electrical and mechanical assembly of robotic systems and equipment.
• Use testing instruments, hand tools, and power tools for maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain service reports, maintenance records, and technical documentation.
• Support inventory management, spare parts handling, equipment packing, and mobilization for field operations.
• Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance during all office and field activities.
• Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to support technical operations and project execution.
