Job summary

Daifuku seeks a skilled Supervisor to oversee the Machine Operation team in the Roller Shop. You will supervise daily operations, plan and assign work, and ensure safety, quality, and efficiency on the shop floor.

Responsibilities include layouts, hands-on fabrication as required, training of staff, and collaborating with the Plant Manager on staffing and process improvements. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a steel fabrication environment.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience with steel fabrication.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and 5S principles.
• Knowledge of reading blueprints and creating jigs/fixtures.
• LOTO certification required.

• Assists the Plant Manager with selection and performance management of employees and recommending compensation.
• Recommends equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, improvements in procedures and working conditions, and process modifications.
• Leads safety initiatives and improvements.
• Gives the team written and oral instructions.
• Standardizes procedures to improve efficiency.
• Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Position Summary

Supervises activities of the Machine Operation team in Roller Shop, which fabricates products for Daifuku Intralogistics material handling projects.

• Leads the daily work of the Machine Operation team, including scheduling staff, planning and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, purchasing, and ensuring efficient workflow
• Performs layouts and set‑ups and does hands‑on fabrication work as required
• Reviews work for accuracy, neatness, and conformance to production guidelines and quality and safety standards
• Provides training to new and existing employees
• Assists the Plant Manager with selection and performance management of employees and recommending compensation
• Recommends equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, improvements in procedures and working conditions, and process modifications
