The role combines creative leadership, technical supervision, team management, and production planning. You will guide artists in creating high-quality effects such as smoke, fire, particles, destruction, fluids, and abstract simulations while ensuring them meet the project’s artistic and technical requirements. The ideal candidate should have 8+ years of high-end VFX experience, expert-level Houdini skills, strong leadership experience, and a good understanding of FX, CG, Lighting, and Compositing pipelines.

In 2026, Rodeo FX opened its newest studio in Bengaluru, expanding its global network across Canada, the United States, Europe, and India.
Located at International Tech Park Bengaluru, the new 40,000-square-foot studio is designed to accommodate up to 400 artists and supports both Rodeo FX and Mikros Animation.
The Bengaluru team is fully integrated into Rodeo FX’s global production pipeline and works with artists, supervisors, and production teams across international studios.
As the Bengaluru studio grows, Rodeo FX is building its senior creative and technical leadership team. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to major VFX projects while helping shape the studio’s workflows, teams, and working culture.
As an FX Supervisor, you will be responsible for the overall creative quality, technical standards, and performance of the FX department on assigned projects.
You will lead FX artists, work closely with VFX and CG Supervisors, collaborate with Compositing, Lighting, and Production teams, and help ensure that FX work is delivered on time and meets the project’s creative and technical requirements.
You may also work directly on complex shots when required and contribute to improving tools, workflows, and production methods.
- Translate the project’s creative vision into clear instructions for FX artists.
- Guide artists during dailies and shot reviews.
- Review and approve FX work based on the project’s visual requirements.
- Maintain visual consistency across shots and sequences.
- Work closely with VFX and CG Supervisors.
- Step in personally on technically or creatively challenging shots when needed.
- Define the technical standards required for FX deliveries.
- Select or approve tools, templates, and workflows for projects.
- Help artists resolve technical problems and production challenges.
- Document useful project workflows and best practices.
- Identify recurring technical issues and work with the Pipeline team on solutions.
- Ensure efficient management of caches, workfiles, and Houdini setups.
- Lead, mentor, and support FX artists.
- Provide clear creative and technical feedback.
- Delegate shots based on artists’ experience and areas of expertise.
- Lead FX turnovers, technical meetings, and progress reviews.
- Maintain a professional, respectful, and collaborative team environment.
- Communicate critical production issues to the appropriate supervisors and department leads.
- Work with the Head of FX Department to improve department workflows and practices.
- Work with Production to evaluate workload and staffing requirements.
- Participate in FX artist selection and recommend suitable artists for specific work.
- Help estimate shot and sequence timelines.
- Prioritize work according to project requirements and deadlines.
- Monitor the team’s progress and help ensure deliveries remain on schedule.
- Support Production during important reviews, submissions, and client validations.
- Develop FX workflows suited to the project’s visual style, budget, and schedule.
- Identify inefficient processes and suggest improvements.
- Participate in developing and implementing new FX tools.
- Help maintain consistency between FX, CG, Lighting, and Compositing workflows.
- Share lessons learned after projects and encourage continuous improvement.
- 8+ years of professional VFX experience in high‑end feature film and/or episodic productions.
- Significant experience as an FX Lead, FX Supervisor, or equivalent senior role.
- Expert‑level knowledge of Houdini.
- Strong experience with:
- Pyro
- FLIP
- RBD
- Vellum
- Procedural workflows
- Strong artistic judgement and understanding of physical realism.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring FX artists.
- Experience reviewing work and providing clear creative and technical feedback.
- Ability to work within production schedules and deadlines.
- Strong understanding of FX pipelines and cross‑department workflows.
- Experience working with CG, Lighting, and Compositing teams.
- Knowledge of USD and Solaris.
- Experience with modern rendering workflows such as Arnold and/or Karma.
- Familiarity with Nuke.
- Familiarity with Flow Production Tracking (ShotGrid) or similar production tracking tools.
- Strong professional English communication skills.
