Base pay range

As an Embedded Firmware Engineer at 10xConstruction.ai, you will play a vital role in bringing our AI-powered construction robots to life. You will contribute to the design, development, and integration of control systems, working closely with the Lead Embedded Systems Engineer to ensure our robots operate with precision and reliability in challenging construction environments. You will have the opportunity to contribute to rapid prototyping efforts, firmware development, and the integration of robotic systems with ROS2.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design and development of embedded control systems for our mobile manipulator robots
  • Assist in the integration of various components, including cobot arms, motors, sensors, actuators, and power tools
  • Develop and implement control algorithms for specific robot functionalities
  • Design and develop PCBs and firmware for custom hardware solutions
  • Conduct testing and debugging of control systems, identifying and resolving any issues
  • Collaborate with software engineers to implement hardware abstraction APIs
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation
  • Contribute to the prototyping and testing of new control system designs, utilizing off-the-shelf modules and rapid prototyping techniques
  • Assist in the development and integration of ROS2 drivers for robotic components
  • Work with the mechanical team to adapt off-the-shelf power tools for robotic applications

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Robotics, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in the design and development of embedded control systems
  • Proficiency in Embedded programming (C/C++)
  • Familiarity with communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet)
  • Good understanding of control theory and robotics
  • Experience with hardware testing and debugging
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Strong understanding of C programming fundamentals
