The technician will ensure that robotic systems are electronically safe, reliable, correctly integrated, and ready for deployment.

Key Responsibilities
1. Electronics Assembly and Deployment
  • Install, remove, replace, assemble, and disassemble sensors, electronic components, controllers, power devices, and communication equipment.
  • Perform cable routing, crimping, soldering, wire termination, labelling, bundling, clamping, and protective sleeving.
  • Verify connector orientation, pin configuration, polarity, supply voltage, grounding, shielding, and communication connections.
  • Support safe loading, unloading, packing, setup, and transportation of electronic equipment.
2. Sensor Installation and Integration
  • Install cameras, LiDARs, laser profilers, encoders, IMUs, GPS/GNSS systems, proximity sensors, and other sensing devices.
  • Ensure correct sensor mounting, orientation, alignment, field of view, power supply, cable connection, and communication readiness.
  • Support basic sensor configuration, calibration, and validation as per approved procedures.
  • Coordinate with the Mechanical Team for sensor brackets, enclosures, mounting, and protection.
3. On-Site Testing and Validation
  • Support field trials, demonstrations, pilot deployments, and customer-site testing.
  • Conduct pre-test and post-test inspections of sensors, wiring, power systems, connectors, and communication devices.
  • Monitor voltage, current, temperature, signal stability, sensor status, communication connectivity, and data availability.
  • Perform continuity, polarity, grounding, voltage, connector, and communication checks.
  • Record observations, measurements, errors, photographs, videos, logs, and test results.
4. Troubleshooting and Maintenance
  • Identify and resolve issues related to sensors, wiring, connectors, power supply, grounding, signal loss, communication failure, overheating, and voltage fluctuations.
  • Use multimeters, continuity testers, power supplies, soldering equipment, crimping tools, and network tools for troubleshooting.
  • Perform cable repairs, connector replacement, re-crimping, soldering, wiring corrections, and component replacement.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Retest the robot after corrective action and confirm system readiness.
5. Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Coordinate with Electronics, Mechanical, Software, ROS, DevOps, Manufacturing, Operations, and Project teams.
  • Work with the Software and ROS teams to verify sensor detection, network connectivity, device configuration, and data availability.
  • Clearly communicate issues, measurements, observations, corrective actions, and test results.
  • Escalate critical or unresolved concerns to the respective Team Lead or Manager.
6. Team Support
  • Support technicians, operators, helpers, and team members during electronics assembly, wiring, testing, maintenance, and deployment.
  • Follow instructions provided by the Team Lead, Deployment Engineer, or Project Manager.
  • Ensure proper handling of tools, sensors, electronic components, and test equipment.
  • Ensure that no unauthorised wiring, component, or configuration changes are made.
7. Documentation and SOP Compliance
  • Follow approved deployment SOPs, wiring diagrams, sensor installation procedures, calibration procedures, testing checklists, maintenance schedules, and safety instructions.
