Job description

Overview

Varex Imaging is seeking a Risk Management Specialist to perform functions including coordinating with cross‑functional teams, implementing mitigations, conducting vigilance and post‑market surveillance activities, and maintaining the risk management file.

Responsibilities

• Regularly update the Risk Management file.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams and subject‑matter experts at the Varex Corporate Office in Salt Lake City to implement mitigations and corrective actions.
• Monitor and conduct vigilance activities from all regulatory bodies and jurisdictions worldwide.
• Conduct post‑market surveillance activities.
• Maintain the Risk Management Tool with new hazards, mitigations, and risk ratings.
• Conduct risk review meetings with Design, Engineering, and QA.
• Run database searches to identify incidents or reported events related to Varex products.
• Apply a risk‑based approach to review critical changes for ECNs (Engineering Change Notices).
• Assist the RAQA team during audits.
• Conduct regular post‑market surveillance activities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.
• Knowledge of Python programming and/or Excel macro programming is a plus.
• Availability from 8:00AM to 12:00PM Mountain Standard Time or 9:00PM to 1:00AM India Standard Time.
• Critical thinking with attention to detail and ability to think ahead.
• Strong analytical skills in data analysis and statistics.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially advanced Excel functions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
• Capacity to work under pressure and conflicting priorities.

Required Certifications and Training

Obtain and complete LMS training specific to the assigned responsibility.

Experience

Proficiency in business tools such as email, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience with SAP or an equivalent ERP product is desired.
