Responsibilities

  • Analyse data to provide regular reports and recommendations identifying tech, cyber and resilience risks.
  • Conduct risk reviews of methodologies, policies, standards and best practices with improvement recommendations.
  • Support KRIs and KCIs reporting to governance committees.
  • Support core risk activities including risk control assessments, issue management, external assurance, risk governance, and risk reporting.
  • Engage with stakeholders on risk remediation and provide guidance on risk policies.

Job description

Reporting to the Risk & Controls Officer, Corporate Engineering, the Risk & Controls Analyst, Corporate Engineering is responsible for supporting the coordination of risk management activities across Corporate Engineering, including issue management, risk and control assessments, external audit and risk governance.

This role will also collaborate closely with the BISO and Security architects to understand security programmes and initiatives, coordinating the response of Corporate Engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse and interpret data to provide regular reports and recommendations to stakeholders, identifying technology, cyber and resilience risks.
  • Conduct risk reviews and assessments of existing and proposed methodologies, policies, standards and best practices. providing recommendations for improvement and supporting their implementation.
  • Support in the reporting of KRIs (Key Risk Indicators) and KCIs (Key Control Indicators) timely to support various reporting Committees.
  • Support all core risk activities, including but not limited to, risk control assessments, issue management, external assurance, risk governance, risk reporting.
  • Draw on technical knowledge to engage with internal stakeholders on risk remediation.
  • Prepare reports for relevant internal committees, senior management and stakeholders.
  • Partner with capability teams to produce reports and analysis, offering guidance where necessary and ensuring adherence and understanding of technology, cyber and resilience risk policies and frameworks.
  • Build knowledge of the organisation, processes and stakeholders to assist with risk oversight.
Leadership and Line Management
  • This role is an individual contributor with no line management responsibilities but will partner with other members of the Business Management team as required.
  • Establish and maintain strong and supportive relationships across all capabilities and business units to enable the swift and effective management of issues, risks and dependencies when escalated.
  • Contribute to the overall development of Corporate Engineering and take ownership of shared deliverables where identified.
  • Continuously adopt a pragmatic, flexible, and responsive approach.
  • Working with teams in multiple locations simultaneously.
  • Apply judgement to assess the relative importance of assigned tasks and prioritises effectively.
You’ll bring (Candidate Profile / Key Skills)
  • 2+ years of combined Technology and Cyber risk management experience.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting and building risk processes.
  • 2+ years of experience driving risk remediation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - ability to communicate findings in a compelling manner to internal audiences.
  • Good understanding of risk management frameworks and their practical application.
  • Previous IT Audit, 2nd line Technology Risk or 1st line technology risk assurance expertise in financial services.
  • Knowledge to provide guidance to support Divisional Technology teams in controls over SDLC, agile, tooling, architecture, disaster recovery, operational resilience, IT asset management, incident and problem management, IT third party risk management, program/project management, infrastructure practices would be beneficial.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively as needed to deliver against Corporate Engineering objectives.
  • Experience of working with multiple ‘Corporate technologies’, to enable recognition of interdependencies in end-to-end processes that bisect functional boundaries (JML etc).
  • Highly motivated / Strong work ethic – Proven commitment to adapt and champion time sensitive/mission critical processes operating in a global and matrix-type organization.
  • Strong process Management skills - able to understand and coordinate complex organizational processes and consolidate input from multiple stakeholders.
  • Fast learner and able to link diverse sources of information to our business including ability to handle confidential information and materials with appropriate discretion.
