Job summary

Airbus India Private Limited invites applications for an SB Designer in Retrofit Solutions within Customer Services Engineering & Maintenance. The role supports airworthiness, SB embodiment, and customer operations by delivering accurate service bulletins and timely responses to inquiries.

Responsibilities include analyzing design definitions, collecting source documents, calculating man-hour estimates, and coordinating data across engineering and material departments.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
• 8–10 years as Service Bulletin Designer in Aerospace.
• Airbus Proofreader for Service Bulletin production release preferred.
• Understanding of airframe structures or cabin layouts.
• Proficient in ATA iSpec 2200 and S1000D with STE.
• Experience with Airbus toolset: SAMM-DACAS, Arbortext, CIRCE, GIDOCA, GILDA.
• Knowledge of AMM and IPC is an advantage.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; English fluency.

Responsibilities

• Interpret design definitions and installation principles for airframe structures or cabin mods.
• Collect and synthesize TRS/MAS, drawings, SB files, and 3D data.
• Perform technical analysis comparing Pre-MOD vs Post-MOD.
• Define SB configuration for MSN(s); determine access needs.
• Provide SB embodiment man-hour estimates.
• Develop LOC and identify Long Lead Items.
• Coordinate data like Weight & Balance and SB impact data.
• Author SBs in SAMM-DACAS with tasks and procedures.
• Analyze 3D files to develop mock-ups and illustrations.
• Proofread SBs for Airbus standards compliance.
• Review supplier SBs for quality and safety standards.
• Respond to customer queries via Tech-Request; on-site SB validation support.
• Maintain interfaces with Eng, Supply, and Tech Data during SB lifecycle.

Provide timely responses to customer queries and support the Service Bulletin (SB) embodiment process.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and analyze the design definitions and installation principles related to Airframe Structures or Cabin modifications
• Collect and synthesize source documents, including TRS/MAS, Design Drawings, SB preparation files, and 3D Design datasets
• Perform Technical analysis: Evaluate Pre-MOD vs. Post-MOD solutions
• Define SB Configuration for the given MSN(s) applicable
• Determine aircraft access requirements
• Calculate man-hour estimates for SB embodiment
• Develop the List of Components (LOC), identifying Long Lead Items (LLI), wiring bundles and placard set(s)
• Coordinate the procurement of essential data, including Weight & Balance, Electrical Load Data, SB Test and impacts on Operational & Maintenance manuals
• Author Service Bulletins within SAMM-DACAS, defining accomplishment tasks and detailed installation/removal procedures
• Analyze 3D source files to develop mock-ups and generate technical illustrations using Tec-Draw tool
• Proofread Service Bulletins from internal production centers to ensure full compliance with Airbus standards
• Review and approve supplier-generated Service Bulletins to verify adherence to Airbus quality and safety standards
• Answer to customer queries through Tech-Request
• Provide on-site assistance to SB validation/embodiment on in-service or production aircraft
• Maintain seamless interfaces with Engineering, Material Supply and Tech Data departments throughout the SB lifecycle

Qualification & Skills

• B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering
• Experience: 8 to 10 years as Service Bulletin Designer for Aerospace projects
• Airbus certified Proofreader for Service Bulletin-Production Release is highly preferred
• Comprehensive understanding of airframe structures or Cabin layout configurations
• Expert ability to interpret complex 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
• Proficient in ATA iSpec 2200 and S1000D specifications, with a firm command of Simplified Technical English (STE)
• Working experience on Airbus Toolset: Authoring: SAMM-DACAS, Arbortext Editor, CIRCE, GIDOCA and GILDA Configuration & Lifecycle: APS, VPM and PASS SSCI Digital Mock-Up (DMU): 3D-JUMMP and NOVODESK Knowledge of aircraft configuration management and product structure
• Proven project management capabilities, ensuring delivery timelines and quality standards are met
• Skilled in mechanical SB illustration tools; knowledgeable in AMM (Aircraft Maintenance Manual) and IPC (Illustrated Parts Catalog) authoring is an advantage
• Highly proactive with strong organizational and assertive communication skills
• Experienced team player capable of interfacing with cross‑functional engineering and production departments
• Full professional proficiency in English
