- Support client engagements across retirement and pension domains as part of EY’s Consulting team
- Support Defined Benefits Operations, including benefits calculations and reviews
- Address ERISA compliance, US retirement plan testing and reporting
- Support in-plan guaranteed income products and protected retirement solutions
- Contribute to recordkeeping platform enhancements for in-plan income features
- Handle money-in, contributions, loans, repayments, re-amortization and check processing
- Process retirement-plan disbursements, including hardship withdrawals, QDRO, RMD and in-service distributions
- Apply business rules for payouts, qualified and non-qualified plans, Roth products, fiduciaries and pension plans
- Support plan administration, eligibility, vesting and investment management
- Perform middle-office and back-office retirement processing, servicing, payouts and reconciliation
- Support or lead PMO activities for large-scale retirement transformation programs, including planning, milestone tracking, risk management and stakeholder reporting
- Coordinate business, technology and vendor teams during retirement platform implementations and upgrades
- Create process maps, work breakdown structures, requirement documents, dataflow diagrams and process-flow diagrams
- Conduct requirements elicitation, JAD sessions, workshops, due diligence and assessments
- Define future-state operational processes, product configuration, scope and acceptance criteria
- Collaborate with product design and development teams on functional enhancements
- Manage service delivery, operational governance, quality reviews and communication strategies
- Work with EY professionals and clients across globally connected teams
Requirements
- Experience with Defined Benefits Operations, including benefits calculations and benefits reviews
- Experience with retirement benefits calculations for retirement, termination, disability, death and divorce
- Experience with ERISA compliance and US retirement plan testing, including ADP & ACP testing and corrective distribution
- Deep understanding of in-plan guaranteed income products, including annuities embedded within defined contribution plans
- Experience designing or evaluating protected retirement solutions through insurance-wrapped investment vehicles
- Exposure to recordkeeping platform enhancements supporting in-plan income features
- Experience handling money-in and loan activities, including check processing, contributions, loan initiation, loan repayments and re-amortization
- Experience with disbursements such as hardship withdrawals, QDRO, RMD and in-service distributions
- Experience processing 401(k) contributions and loan repayments
- Understanding of payout business rules, qualified/non-qualified plans, Roth conversion, Roth IRA, fiduciaries, defined contribution and defined benefits/pension
- Exposure to Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) studies and public pensions
- Understanding of plan administration, group and account setup, eligibility, vesting rules and investment management
- Knowledge of middle-office and back-office processing, including retirement account origination, servicing, fund payouts and fund reconciliation
- Experience supporting or leading PMO functions for large-scale retirement transformation programs
- Proven ability to coordinate business, technology and vendor teams in retirement platform implementations or upgrades
- Experience creating business process maps, WBS and conversion strategies
- Experience with business transformation and modernization programs
- Experience conducting due diligence and assessment projects
- Experience with requirements gathering and elicitation, BRDs, FSDs, JAD sessions and workshops
- Experience defining future-state operational processes and product configuration
- Experience defining scope and evaluating client requirements and change requests
- Experience creating requirements documents with dataflow and process-flow diagrams
- Experience analyzing functional enhancements with product design and development teams
- Experience gathering acceptance criteria and supporting projects throughout the lifecycle
- Experience managing service delivery across multiple blended processes
- Experience implementing operational governance, quality review mechanisms and communication strategies
- Proficiency in technology solution architecture
- Experience with data migration projects
- Skills in data analytics
- Strong understanding of data governance principles and practices
- Industry certifications such as ASPPA, LOMA or RPF are an advantage
