Job summary

Powerstatic Solutions India Private Limited seeks a Resident Engineer to provide on-site technical support for the ALSPA System at Kakrapar Atomic Power Station. • Collect relevant technical data: logs, events, system snapshots, configuration details.
• Assist in spare parts identification or license/patch upgrades.
• Supervise execution of approved software changes in ALSPA Contro‑steam system.
• Configure hardware for Operator and Engineering Workstations, Windows setup and firmware updates.
• Recover from backups and back up OWS/EWS.
• Configure control system cards and modules (AI/DI/DO, network, speed, MFC).
• Explain logic blocks used in turbine protection, governing and auxiliary systems.
• Coordinate remote engineering support and provide advanced troubleshooting for OEM ALSPA system.

Job description

The Resident Engineer will provide on‑site technical support for the ALSPA System, ensuring efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting at the Kakrapar Atomic Power Station. They will facilitate knowledge transfer, support operation and maintenance personnel, and act as a single point of contact between NPCIL and PSIPL engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose routine faults, perform alarm analysis, conduct system health checks, verify configurations, and assist during normal operation.
• Support testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities, including scheduled and unscheduled outages.
• Identify faults and collect relevant technical data such as logs, sequence of events, system snapshots, and configuration details.
• Assist in spare parts identification or license/patch upgrades.
• Supervise execution of changes applied in the ALSPA Controsteam Control System and implement approved software changes.
• Configure hardware for Operator Workstations (OWS) and Engineering Workstations (EWS), including Windows setup, tool/function/patch installation, and firmware updates of controllers and modules.
• Recover from backup to the original system and back up OWS/EWS.
• Configure TMR cards (AI, DI, DO, and Network Cards), speed cards, MFC cards, and modules (AI, DI, DO, AO) as applicable for the supplied control system.
• Explain logic blocks used in logic creation for turbine protection, governing, and auxiliary systems.
• Coordinate remote engineering support, including design clarifications, advanced troubleshooting, and technical advice for the OEM‑supplied ALSPA Contro‑steam Control System.
