Job summary

Himalaya seeks an experienced Pharmaceuticals/R&D leader to guide end-to-end formulation development for vitamins, minerals, and dietary supplements across formats including tablets, capsules, gummies, powders, and liquid shots.

You will drive liquid formulation science, taste-masking, stabilization, and bioavailability enhancements while ensuring global regulatory compliance and seamless cross-functional collaboration with ADL, Regulatory, QA, and Marketing teams.

Qualifications

• Education is B.Pharm or M.Pharm from a reputed institution.
• 10–12 years of progressive R&D experience in formulation development within nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, or pharma.
• Experience with global health / nutrition companies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end product development for vitamins, minerals, and dietary supplements from concept to commercialization across formats such as tablets, capsules, gummies, powders, and liquid shots.
• Specialize in taste-masking, stabilization, and bioavailability enhancement of actives in RTD beverages.
• Manage scale-up from lab to pilot to commercial manufacturing with robust validation.
• Ensure formulations comply with global regulatory standards (FSSAI, USFDA, EFSA) for nutraceuticals.
• Collaborate with ADL, Regulatory Affairs, Procurement, QA, and Marketing.
• Investigate formulation challenges, perform root-cause analysis, and optimize processes for yield and cost.
• Prepare and review Product Development Reports, BMRs, technology transfer protocols, and patent applications where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulation Strategy: Lead end-to-end product development for vitamins, minerals, and dietary supplements from concept to commercialization across diverse formats (tablets, capsules, gummies, powders, and liquid shot drinks).
• Liquid & Shot Innovation: Specialize in taste-masking, stabilization, and bioavailability enhancement of active ingredients in ready-to-drink (RTD) liquid shots and functional beverages.
• Scale-Up & Tech Transfer: Manage scale-up activities from laboratory scale to pilot and commercial manufacturing plants, ensuring robust process validation.
• Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure all formulations comply with global regulatory standards (FSSAI, USFDA, EFSA) for dietary supplements and nutraceuticals.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with Analytical Development (ADL), Regulatory Affairs, Procurement, Quality Assurance, and Marketing teams.
• Troubleshooting & Optimization: Investigate formulation challenges, conduct root-cause analysis, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve yield, stability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Documentation: Prepare and review robust Product Development Reports (PDR), batch manufacturing records (BMR), technology transfer protocols, and patent applications where applicable.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: B.Pharm or M.Pharm from a reputed institution.

• Experience: 10-12 years of progressive R&D experience in formulation development within the Nutraceutical, Dietary Supplement, or Pharmaceutical industry.
• MNC Experience: Preferred background working in global health / nutrition companies.
• Proven track record in developing multi-format vitamin and supplement products.
• Specialized expertise in liquid formulation science, rhea.logy, and stabilization for shot drinks.
• Strong understanding of excipient compatibility, shelf-life extension, and sensory profiling (flavor/taste masking).
• Exceptional project management abilities, strong cross-functional communication, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
